Student Learning Exit Skills

Class starts at 6:10. Please be ready to begin class. I really like to start class on time. When you come late, you miss important information, and it is very annoying to me.

Good students come on time and to every class. If you are absent for more than 6 hours of class, I can drop you. However, I know emergencies can happen. Please contact me as soon as possible. However, this contact does not excuse your absence! You are still responsible for all the work.

Look at our class blog page for homework assignments. Even when you miss class, you are responsible for the work—nicolgrammar.wordpress.com

•Come on time and come every time!!! (The number one way to be successful)

•Do your homework everyday and turn it in on time! In this way, you will not get behind. Plus late homework is not accepted. Due at beginning of class.

•Do all the homework! Write questions next to parts you don’t understand. Circle difficult grammar or words. Be prepared to ask questions. Late homework will not be accepted. You can drop one homework assignment from your grade.

•Make sure your homework is neat and easy for the teacher to read.

•Participate in class! Ask questions! Answer questions! I can’t read your mind, so I don’t know when you don’t understand. Please ask questions.

•Be respectful and polite to others, turn off cell phones, have a good attitude, and try your best. Use English in class.

•Study for quizzes and exams: There will be short quizzes, a midterm and a final. Points are determined based on the number of questions given. Quizzes cannot be made up, but you can drop 1 quiz.

•If you miss class, look online at the class blog for the homework—nicolgrammar.wordpress.com

•NEVER EVER NEVER CHEAT — never copy from a book, the Internet, or from someone else. Never let someone do your homework. Cheating does not help you even though it feels like it.
