Warm fraternal greetings to the Idaho Masonic Family

I would like to welcome all Master Masons and the Appendant and Concordant Bodies, to the 154th Communication of the Grand Lodge AF&AM of Idaho. Masonic youth: DeMolay, Job’s Daughters, and Rainbow, you are certainly invited as well.

The dates are Wednesday thru Friday 9/15 – 9/17/21 at the Best Western CDA Inn in Coeur d’Alene Idaho.

There will not be a public opening this year. We have decided that the public introductions and remarks for the Masonic Youth, Appendant and Concordant Bodies will be at the Friday night banquet. Please contact me or the Grand Secretary if you have any questions.

We will have an OPEN In-Person Grand Lodge with the theme: “Kissin Covid Goodbye”. I am looking forward to a large turnout, so please mark your calendars and get your registrations in early. Just a reminder, the only way we can afford the meeting rooms is with your help by staying at the convention hotel and joining us for the meals there. Prices are sure not going down, but we are making every effort to keep it all as affordable as possible.

A new fun event has been added this year. On Thursday, the Lodge of Research has been moved to late afternoon to free up the evening for everyone. I invite you to join us Thursday night at our new FREE Bunko night. We will have finger-foods and soft drinks while we have fun and get to know each other. If you have not played Bunko before, no worries. It is easy and we will teach you. Did I mention it is all FREE? I am sure you want bragging rights as one of the first Grand Lodge Bunko Night Winners. You might even win one of the trophies. Please plan to join us, for without you the evening will not be as much fun!

Kathie and I borrowed a fun idea from our good friends in Wyoming. The dress code for the Friday night banquet is “Black Tie Somewhere”. The banquet dress code for guys and gals is dressy casual, but everyone is required to wear a black tie of some sort. It must be worn somewhere on your person and you must show it if asked or face a fine! The tie can be any style of black tie, and it can be worn around your head, your arm, your leg. Let your imagination wander! If you do not have any creativity, you can wear it normally around your neck. Just be ready to show it and have fun!

Make plans now to come and join Kathie and I at Idaho’s Grand Lodge as we celebrate “Kissin’ Covid Goodbye!”

See you in September, Fraternally yours,

MW Grand Master Steve Zimmerman Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Idaho
