Achievingthegeneticpotentialofthebirdsdependson:

• Adietaryregimethatprovidestheappropriatenutrients.
• Effectivebiosecurityanddiseasecontrol.

TheArborAcresPlusisavailableintwooptions,onewhichproducesfeather-sexablebroilersandonethatproducesallfast-featheringbroilers.
Thefeathersexableoption,TheAAPlusS,producesfast-featheringfemalebroilersandslow-featheringmalebroilers.Thisallowsbroilerstobesexedinthehatcherybyevaluatingrelativefeatherdevelopment.
Thefast-featheringoption,TheAAPlusFF,producesbroilersthatareallfast-feathering.Theycannotbesexedinthehatcherybyevaluatingfeatherdevel-opmentbecausebothmalesandfemalesaregeneticallyfast-feathering.
Grandparentfemalesforbothtypesareverysimilar.Theyshouldhavethesamegrowthprofile, and require thesame feeding regimenand theireggproductionshouldbethesame.
Itisimportanttomanagethebreederssotheydonotcomeintoproductiontooearly.Iftheyreach5-10%productionpriorto25weeksofageearlyeggsizewillbereduced,resultinginsmallerchicks.
Dailyeggproduction,feedclean-upandbodyweightsshouldbeevaluatedonadailybasisfrom5%productionthroughpostpeakproductionandfeedamountsadjustedappropriately.
