District Grants DISTRICT GRANTS – MONEY MANAGEMENT

▪ MUST use a dedicated bank account for all project funding and expenses

▪ Bank statements and check images must be part of project reporting

▪ Receipts required for all expenditures

▪ Project expenses may not be incurred prior to approval by RIF

District Grants Matching Funds

DISTRICT GRANTS-MATCHING FUNDS

▪ 1:1 Club Contribution / District Match

▪ Single Club District Grant Projects$1,500 – Maximum Match$500 - Minimum Amount from Club

▪ Multi-Club District Grant Projects$6,000 - Maximum Match(4 clubs must participate in order to receive the max. match)

$300 - Minimum Amount from any Club

District Grants Application Timeline

DISTRICT GRANTS – APPLICATION TIMELINE

▪ May 31, 2020 – Deadline to submit online applications

▪ June 2020 – District committee reviews project

applications, submits Spending Plan to TRF for approval

▪ July/August 2020 – Grant project approval notification;

funds received from TRF and disbursed to clubs; projects

can begin

▪ December 31, 2020 – Interim report due

▪ March 31, 2021 – Project completion deadline and final

report due

TYPES OF GLOBAL GRANTS

▪ Humanitarian Projects

▪ Vocational Training Teams (VTT)

▪ Global Scholarship

Note: A Global Grant can be a combination of any of these types of grants.

A GLOBAL GRANT MUST:

▪ Align with one or more Area of Focus

▪ Be Host Community driven

▪ Exhibit good Stewardship of funds awarded

▪ Provide a Long Term Benefit – Be sustainable

▪ Include active Rotarian participation

▪ Be measurable

Vocational Training TeamsVOCATIONAL TRAINING TEAMS

▪ Include a Rotarian Team Leader and members with a minimum of work experience in the Area(s) of Focus

▪ Provide professional training

▪ May support travel of multiple teams (inbound and/or outbound)

▪ Must align with Area(s) of Focus

▪ Duration of trip and team size are flexible

GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIPS

▪ Graduate-level coursework

▪ 1 to 4 academic years

▪ Study in an Area of Focus

▪ Further the mission of TRF

▪ Applicant must provide proof of admission

▪ Global Grant funds must not be used for:

▪ New construction of habitation structures

▪ Purchase of land or buildings

▪ Cooperating organization expenses

▪ Personal benefit

▪ Duplication of TRF or Rotary program

▪ Reimbursement of existing project

▪ Excessive support of any one beneficiary

SUSTAINABILITY

▪ The capacity for maintaining outcomes long-term to serve the ongoing needs of a community after grant funds have been expended.

▪ Optimal use of local resources.

▪ Prepare community for transition.
