Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Media The ability of activated carbon media to remove carbon from wastewater is well documented. In a recent validation study conducted for the approval of a stormBLOX TM system in California, BOD and TOC levels. However, the feasibility of using the technology as primary treatment is limited in practice by adsorption capacity and related costs. Ovivo has developed a flowsheet using GAC to handle short-term peak flow or storm water events that is cost effective, space efficient and sustainable.
