the task was to design a campaign from the ministerium of inter-
nal affairs that prevents loaning. therefore we ought to design
a poster, a flyer, a city light poster, an outdoor and a sticker to
spread the information in various ways sticking to the visuals of
the campaigns identity. the graphic design was restricted to the use
of typography, illustration and icons as well as pictogramms. no
photographs were allowed.
my concept is based on typography. i experimented
with a grid-pixel-type. for the background i used a
fingerprint and bitmapped and vectorized it. i did this
to visualize your definition through money and put
the font over the picture so to say: first read than see
you in the background. the result was a pattern that
was used as a basis for my font. i varied the relation
between the font and the background according to
the format of the print-work. as a further typeface for
the textblocks and copy i used the chalet-font of new
york nineteensixty. my main aim was to deliver a grey
and rough appearence of the campaign. so the slogan
becomes a warning sign that tries to keep you away
from loaning. the way it is presented emphasizes the
content to not define yourself through money.
