RELEVANT DATA ON ONE SCREENScheduling (GPS) enables planners to work on multiple screens and drag the orders from the unplanned order overview and drop/allocate them to a resource with capacity on another screen.
GPS provides a clear and detailed overview of all activi-ties planned for your resources. Your planner can keep an eye on all relevant data presented on one screen which consists of three sections:
• A filter and setup section for selecting the resources and the period to show
• A graphical section where the capacity reservations are shown.
• A data section which shows the detail of the reservations sorted per origin

The filter and setup section lets you decide which resources are to be shown for which period and how you want them to be visualized. Different planners can set their own preferences for their own resource selections.
The graphical section of the screen allows you to view and actually optimize the planning. It is easy to drag a job to another time or resource (if permitted). Details per job are readily available by zooming in (production route, project etc.).
Graphical Planning and Scheduling manages the capac-ity reservations from the production control module, the master planning module, the project management and counting module as well as the Service / Maintenance Management products from Dynamics Software.
GRAPHICAL OVERVIEWEach production order or project is displayed with its own color for easy recognition of related reservations and additional information per reservation is displayed in the graphical overview. From here, you can also easily create calendar deviations (e.g. holidays).
The color definition of the production order and the proj-ect activities can be defined on multiple levels, such as customer, item, project, etc.
Graphical planning and scheduling also allows the user to define their own text on the scheduled activities as well as the tooltip that is shown when hovering over the different scheduled activities.
For human resources, it is possible to register planned absences with reference to a project so follow up and registration is possible.

The data part of GPS gives you details on the capacity reservations and the access to the functions associated with this data.
For production orders, releasing and starting can be done from the planning overview. You also have imme-diate access to the required materials and the posted transactions.
In addition to this, a production operation can be locked in place to prevent it from being moved. The planner also has the overview on the jobs that are likely to fin-ish too late.

SIMULATION CAPABILITIESSometimes it is not as simple as just drag and drop, and a planner just needs more tools to optimize the planning. Therefore, simulation capabilities are available to sup-port what-if planning scenarios before the plan becomes actual.
If your what-if has been optimized – it is just one click away from the actual optimization of the entire planning. Have the system validates for you to see if there are any errors or issues, save the results, and then you are done! The graphical planner will update all scheduling changes that have been made at once.
Not happy with the simulated result? Just erase it – and the schedule is back to its original state for you to start simulating again.
SUPPLY CHAIN INFORMATION – ORDER PEGGINGEspecially industries that work on customer orders do need accurate information from the sales order to match the delivery information, but also from the purchase depart-ment to ensure the on-time production and delivery.
The Graphical Planner does not only display the current information on the production capacity and resource schedules, but also on the related information of the customer, delivery date, requested date, total quantity requested and so on.
All information available from one planning screen – this is how a lot of time can be saved and how produc-tion scheduling becomes efficient.
MULTIPLE VIEWS – CONFIGURABLEFlexibility is the keyword of the Graphical Planner. From a complete overview to check the overall utilization to the individual detail to see the utilization for one individual, one team, or a group of teams and/or individuals: Adjust the settings of the planning board and you are done.

It is simple to switch between multiple views, so you can view planning for one or multiple weeks, for one or mul-tiple production lines and so on. In horizontal view dis-playing a 24-hour calendar, or in strip view to just view the working hours on the calendar.
