Town of Griswold Recreation Commission Meeting Agenda November 17th, 2011 at 5:30 pm, at the Griswold Town Hall Call to order: 5:33PM Next Meeting: December 15th, 5:30PM Approval of Minutes: New Business: 1. Open space committee formed, Carl Fontneau attended to give update on the new committee, a new map is being created by the town to show open space. We will work with this committee to iden- tify potential new locations to develop for open space. The map will be completed within the next 6-12 months. We will add Carl to the distribution list so that he can attend the rec commission meetings so we can continue to work together on open space. 2. Jamie Caporaso will contact Ed Conn regarding his interest in continuing as secretary. We may reopen officer elections at next meeting. Sally Knolhoff stated that she could bring a computer to the meeting to do the minutes if needed. Other members to be contacted regarding attendance; Mike Robers, John Mokula, Ben Young. 3. Discuss options for Sheldon Park grand opening celebration. Including Sub committees for guests, Press, Food, Entertainment, Guest speakers, Plaque for dedication / recognition and other. Sheldon is making great progress (field has been hydro-seeded and the building should be completed in approx 1 month.) Discussion of selling engraved pavers and doing a wine tasting in the shell of the building discussed. We will work to set a date for fundraisers working with the Sheldon Field Committee. 4. Kevin Skulczyck presented a proposal of putting together a private group that will work with the committee to provide activities at Veteran’s Memorial Park. Ideas include: farmer’s market, fire waters, duck races, auto show. Committee approved Kevin’s proposal. 5. Discuss the Town park maintenance budget. Old Business: 1. Discuss the newly funded position of Borough Park Seasonal Maintainer Board Members Jamie Caporaso, Chairperson; Sally Kinel-Knolhoff, Vice Chair; Ed Conn, Secretary; Ryan K.
