OUR GREAT HARVEST MANTRA

We care about health. Great Harvest offers breads and sweets that are made with 100% whole wheat. That means all parts of the grain—the bran, the germ, and the endosperm—are retained along with the protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals that are naturally found in the wheat kernel.

We use fresh ingredients. We mill our own wheat on site each day. Milling our own wheat ensures freshness. Our delicious breads last 10 to 14 days stored in just a plastic bag! We never use artificial dough conditioners to boost loaf size, and we do not use preservatives.

We utilize simple recipes. Our basic bread dough recipe includes only five ingredients: freshly milled flour, filtered water, honey, yeast, and salt. To this simple dough, we add tasty and healthy mix-ins such as fruit, nuts, and seeds. The result—and we think you will agree—is spectacular tasting breads and sweets.

We support family-owned farms. All of Great Harvest’s wheat is sourced from family-owned farms in Montana’s Golden Triangle, a region known for growing some of the highest quality wheat in the world.

We consider the environment. At the Ames Great Harvest Bakery and Café, we endeavor to protect the environment. We recycle

consumable materials whenever possible.
