Greater Cleveland AAZK Chapter Newsletter Winter 2016 In October 2016, AAZK Greater Cleveland Chapter was able to donate $900 to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. This money was raised during our 1st Annual Drafts for Giraffes fundraiser held in July at Platform Brewery! We had a great evening with Dr. Julian Fennessey of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. In November we had our annual Holiday Shopathon at the Primates, Cat’s and Aquatics building at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. It is a unique event where anyone can swing down to the Zoo to find one of a kind gifts by local artists, photographers, jewelers, international conservation organizations, beauty supplies, books and more! And the proceeds benefit your Greater Cleveland American Association of Zoo Keepers chapter!

We raised some money this year by wrapping Christmas presents at Barnes and Noble during Christmas time. It was fun to spread Christmas cheer and help out our chapter with this fundraiser! We also used this as an opportunity to educate the public about polar bears!
We ended the year with a fun ugly sweater Christmas party at our December AAZK meeting! Greater
