War, KAS Director DIPK: 11036 Consumer Affairs & PD Deptt., Srinagar Kashmir A/S Bilal Kakpori passes away Separatists condole demise Srinagar, Nov 15: Senior separatist leader and Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) founder member, Farooq Ahmad alias Bilal Kakpori of Lelhar Pul- wama passed away today. Various separatist leaders and organisations have expressed grief over the demise and extended con- dolences to the bereaved family. Condoling Kakpori’s pass- ing away, an MDM spokesperson said in a statement today, “Bilal Sahib was last arrested in August this year during signature cam- paign for lifers. He suffered car- diac arrest twice on October 19. He was shifted to SKIMS where he breathed his last today.” “He was associated with the movement since 1989 and was close confidante of MDM Ameer, Dr Muhammad Qasim,” he said and added that Dr Qasim has also condoled Kakpori’s demise. Expressing grief over the demise, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani in his tributes to the deceased said, “Kakpori was a dedicated and honest activist of freedom struggle who spent 10 years of his life in jails.” Geelani expressed sympathy and condolence with Kakpori’s family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. Meanwhile, a Tehreek-e- Hurriyat delegation including Dr G M Ganai, Abdul Hameed Magray, Syed Mohi-ud-din Andrabi, Umar Adil Dar, Rameez Raja and other activ- ists today visited the residence of Bilal Kakpori and extended condolences to his family. Expressing grief, Dukhtaran- e-Millat general secretary, Nahida Nasreen termed the demise as a great loss and said, “DeM stands with the relatives of the deceased and MDM in this hour of grief. We pray to Allah to bestow Sabr on the bereaved family and place in Jannah to the departed soul.” Nahida while quoting Syeda Asiya Andrabi said, “Baji Sahiba also felt that the demise is a huge loss to the movement.” A delegation of DeM led by Nahida visited Kakapora and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. Meanwhile, DeM said it is organising a condolence meet of women at the residence of the deceased on Tuesday. Militant outfit, Lasker-e- Toiba has also expressed grief over the demise of Bilal Kakpori and appealed the people to pray for the departed soul. In statement, LeT spokes- man, Dr Abdullah Gaznavi has quoted the chief of the militant outfit, Mehmood Shah saying that the death of Kakpori “is a big loss for the freedom struggle.” Shah according to Gaznavi has said, “We are praying for all the people who have sacri- ficed their lives for Kashmir and that includes Kakpori.” Meanwhile patron of Young- men’s League, Nazir Ahmad Khan has also condoled the demise of Kakpori. A YL delega- tion led by its general secretary Master Muhammad Maqbool visited Kakpora to attend Bilal’s funeral prayers. Yawar Mir announces `3 cr WSS for Hadipora Baramulla, Nov 15 : Member Legislative Assem- bly (MLA) Rafiabad, Yawar Dilawar Mir on Sunday announced Rs 3 crore water supply scheme while speak- ing at a public meeting at Hadipora here. The water supply scheme would provide drinking water to about 6500 souls of Hadipora, Parrypo- ra, Yadipora and Lorihama villages. The MLA called for completing the schemes at an earliest and directed the concerned officers to invite tenders immediately. Chief Engineer PHE, officers of district adminis- tration and PHE department besides senior PDP leader Dilawar Mir were also pres- ent on the occasion. Earlier, the MLA had chaired a meeting of engi- neers of PHE department at Baramulla, wherein he had issued directions for construction of water supply scheme for the area. The MLA also announced modern playground for Hadi- pora besides opening of J&K Bank branch in the village. Yawar promised that all commitments made to public will be fulfilled in a phased manner. GDC Tral holds seminar Hurriyat (M) condemns Mirwaiz’s house arrest Srinagar, Nov 15: Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who had to visit Zainakote to offer condolences to the family of Gowhar Nazir Dar, was again placed under house arrest on Sunday, a party spokes- man said. Condemning Mir - waiz’s house arrest, the spokesman said the Hur- riyat (M) Chairman had once again been placed under house arrest just a day after his release from a 10-day house detention and thus he could not visit the resi- dence of Gowhar, who was killed by forces on November 7. Blaming the state gov- ernment for indulging in politics of intolerance, the conglomerate’s spokes- man said “state govern- ment has been muzzling all voice of dissent and trampling the rights of the resistance leadership by disallowing them their just right to assemble and propagate their ideolo- gies.” Condemning the arrest of Syeda Asiya Andrabi, the spokesman said instead of releasing the separatist leaders and removing restrictions on their movement, the gov- ernment was on an arrest spree. He said such arrests were not only undemo- cratic but also proved how much vendetta gov- ernment harbours for the separatist leadership. spokesman said the Hur-riyat (M) Chairman had once again been placed under house arrest just a day after his release from a 10-day house detention and thus he could not visit the resi-dence of Gowhar, who was killed by forces on November 7. Blaming the state gov-ernment for indulging in

politics of intolerance, the conglomerate’s spokes-man said “state govern-ment has been muzzling all voice of dissent and trampling the rights of the resistance leadership by disallowing them their just right to assemble and propagate their ideolo-gies.” Condemning the arrest of Syeda Asiya

Tral, Nov 15: Govern-ment Degree College Tral organized one-day seminar titled “Human Activities and Environment threats” in which students from dif-ferent colleges of the valley participated and spoke on the topic. On the occasion, princi-pal of college, Dr Mushtaq Ali Mir stressed on holding of such type of programmes and

highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities undertaken in the college. He also gave a brief of the academic and other curricular activities going on in the col-lege.
