REMINDER TO ALL ACTIVITY LEADERS:
Whether we reopen the Center on July 1 or at a later date, if your activity will not start up that first week be sure
to call Sylvia to let her know your start date: (321) 557-1395.
It is essential that we gather that information so that the front desk can reply accurately to phone inquiries.

President’s Message
Dear Members,
The Board of Directors will continue to meet each month to discuss
possible dates on which to safely and effectively reopen our Center.
The next Board meeting will be on Monday, June 22, at 10:00 am.
Reopening will depend on the medical recommendations provided
by both the Governor of Florida and the CDC regarding Covid-19.
The biggest challenges will continue to be the necessity for Social
Distancing and the pro-cedures necessary to provide a sanitized
environment to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
We must insist that all of our members accept the responsibility to
be proactive in regard to maintaining safe and sanitary conditions.
The Center cannot force members to wear masks, but common
sense dictates that no one comes to the Center when they are not
feeling well. We must insist on continuing the safe practices of:
frequent washing of hands, players sanitizing supplies and games,
cooperation with disinfecting tables and chairs, members and
guests discarding all trash into bagged receptacles, and the
continued disinfecting of work areas, including desks, telephones,
and computers.
The best way to keep our members informed of the reopening date
and restrictions is for members to utilize the GPBSC website.
Additionally you’ll see current updates if you “like us” on Facebook.
The City of Palm Bay has received a grant that will greatly improve
our Center. These updates are directly related to ADA requirements
and work is scheduled to begin in June.
I am not certain what our new normal will be, but with everyone’s
help we can safely return to our daily activities at the Center in the
near future. I hope all Moms had a special Mother’s Day and wish
the same for all Dads on Father’s Day, June 21.
Be safe and see you soon!

Thoughts when there’s too much time to think
(such as during a quarantine):
Some days I have no idea what I’m doing out of bed.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could put ourselves in
the dryer for 10 minutes, then come out wrinkle-free
and three sizes smaller.
These days, “on time” is when I get there.
Aging has slowed me down, but it hasn’t shut me up.
Covid-19 Days
Until further notice, the days of the week are now
called: Thisday, Thatday, Otherday, Someday,
Yesterday, Today, and Nextday.
OUTREACH — IMPORTANT INFORMATION
One of the charities our GPBSC Outreach sponsors
is St. Vincent de Paul. Because our Center is closed,
we haven’t been able to provide our usual donations
to this charity.
We encourage our members to donate canned
goods and hygiene items directly to St. Vincent de
Paul, or you may send contributions in the form of
a check made payable to St. Vincent de Paul. (If you
prefer to mail a check to the Center, the check
should still be made payable to St. Vincent de Paul.)
St. Vincent de Paul is on the grounds of Our Lady of
Grace, which is at 300 Malabar Rd, Palm Bay SE,
32907. It is open 9:00 - 11:00 am on Tuesdays and
Thursdays.
