• Zeus= King of gods
• Apollo= God of the sun
• Athena=god of wisdom
• Hephaestus= god of forge and fire
• Dionysus= god of wine
What was the Minator?
• The Minotaur had the head of a bull and the body of a man. He lived at the Cretan labyrinth.
How are greek gods and goddesses names used today?
• There are thousands of companies, groups and corporations that take the gods names. Ares lighting system is an example.

• Hercules=He didn’t die when Hera put snakes in his crib
• Achilles=best warrior in the Trojan war• Odysseus=Hero of Trojanwar• Perseus= Founder of Mycenae• Jason= Leader of the Argonauts• Bellerophon=Master of the Pegasus• Pandora=First woman• Sisyphus= Cheater of deaths• Adlanta= Swift footed huntress
Why did they have so many gods?
• They held high respect for nature and earth. To respect this love of nature they placed different gods in different aspects of life.
How did they become gods and Goddesses?
• They were created to explain the world around them and why certain things are there.
What are some historical events?
• Trojan war= 1200 B.C.
• First Messenia war= 730-710 B.C.
• Peloponnesian war between Sparta and Athens= 461-446 B.C.
What kind of heroes did they have?
• Mortals, immortals. Hercules was the strongest hero
• Alexander the Great was a good warrior and conquered a lot of citys
