    Greek Mythology is the way the Greeks tried toexplain their world using stories that may ormay not have morals.

    In the beginning there was only Chaos.

    Then Erebus appeared which is where deathand Night dwelled.

    Love also appeared which formed Light andDay.

    From Light and Day appeared Gaea (Earth).

    Gaea gave birth to Uranus who became hermate.

    Gaea and Uranus gave birth to the Cyclopses,Hecatonchires, and the twelve titans.

    Uranus hated the Hecatonchires and pushed

    them into Gaeas womb. In the end Gaea revolted against Uranus along

    with the youngest Titan Cronus who becamethe new ruler of the world.

    Cronus would marry his sister Rhea.

    Gaia and Uranus would tell Cronus that hewould be overthrown by his son and to

    prevent this he swallows each of his children. Rhea who was angered by this hid her sixth

    child Zeus and gave Cronus a rock wrapped incloth for Cronus to eat.

    Zeus would then overthrow Cronus with the help of the Cyclops

    and the Hecatonchires.

    The Cyclops supplied Zeus with his thunderbolts that helped him

    defeat Cronus.

    Zeus would then exile all the titans that went against him into

    Tartarus except Atlas who was forced to carry the world on his

    back.

    Gaea who was angry that her children were imprisoned gave birth

    to her last offspring Typhoeus whom Zeus defeated with his

    lightning bolts.

    Zeus is the king of Gods in Olympus.

    Zeuss wife is Hera who is also his sister, but Zeus is

    known for having many affairs.

    Zeus is the son of Cronus and the father of many Gods.

    Zeus is one of the big three Gods who pulled straws

    with his brothers Hades and Poseidon. Zeus won andbecame the ruler of all Gods.

    Zeuss keeps an eye on all humans and guides them.

    Poseidon is the ruler of the seas and controller

    of the tides.

    He is the brother of Zeus, Hades, Hera, etc.

    Poseidon is the inventor of the horse.

    The symbol for Poseidon is a horse.

    The trident is his weapon.

    Hades is the God of the Underworld. He is alsoKing of the dead.

    Hades makes sure that anyone who enters the

    Underworld does not leave. He has a helmet that makes him invisible.

    His wife is Persephone whom he has abducted.

    He is known to be a greedy God who willmake exceptions for some people to leave theUnderworld.

    Greek Mythology gave people morals to follow

    where if you were bad you would be sent to

    Tartarus to suffer.
