    Objectives

Techno/ Commercial presentation covering the Project Economics relevant to India & the barriersand Constraint in Commercialization in the event Swachh Bharat campaign by GoI.

Renewable energy is generally defined as energy that comes from resources which are naturally

replenished on a human timescale such as Sunlight, Wind, Rain, Tides, Geo Thermal, Biomass and

    Geothermal

Renewable energy replaces conventional fuels in four distinct areas: Electricity Generation, Motor

Fuel, rural, Hot Water, Space Heating, Air Conditioning etc

    Types:

    Grid Interactive

    Off Grid / Captive

    Stand Alone.

    1990 : Import of Fossil Fuel 15 %

    2000 : Import of Fossil Fuel 24 %

    2012 : Import of Fossil Fuel 38 %

2020 (Est) : Import of Fossil Fuel 47 % (At present rate)

Are we are dependent on matter of Energy : Fuel & Power ?

Presently Fuel Grade EthanolDoes not account of Energy, while Fossil fuel does ?

    .

    Biomass & Ocean Energy

    .

Little is said and done on Ocean Energy.

. Going forward this presentation will focus on Biomass.

    Benefits:

    1. Energy from Waste 1,196 MW

    2. Savings in Environmental Hazards

Each Kg of oil = 2.06.5 Kg BOD

1.0 Kg BOD consumes 2.2 KW of Power

    Power Consumption by Municipal Authorities = 1,820,848 MT x 3.5 x 2.2 / 1000

    = 14,020,529 MWh ( 1600 MW)

    Energy Saved in Energy Generated

    3. Power Generation & Saving = 1,196 + 1,600 = 2,796 (Say 2,800 MW)

Peak power deficit or shortage in electricity supply when the demand is

maximum for October stood at 3,845 megawatts (MW), or 3%, as per the CEA

    data (Source Livemint.com )

    Hurdles:

    Long Term Vision.

    Environmental Law for Discharge.

    Modification in Fuel Policy

Mahindra Scorpio and others has already run on 100 % Biodiesel / Ethanol.

GoI targets 20 % Ethanol in Fuel by 2017 . Will Ethanol come from Food.

Fuel at cost of Food Another BOMB ticking.
