Welcome to GreenfieldWhen you’re looking for a care home, either for yourself or a loved one, it’s important thatyou feel confident with your decision. This means choosing somewhere that offers thehighest standards of care, comfort and support, with friendly and experienced staff, whoreally get to know the resident and provide care that’s individual to them.

Situated in a residential area of Ingol, Greenfield is on a

local bus route into Preston and has a community centre

and local shops within walking distance. Purpose built in

1982, this single storey home comprises four separate

houses offering nursing and residential care to elderly

residents. As you’d expect from Bupa, our standards of

care are second to none, and we employ highly trained

registered nurses and care assistants who provide 24-hour

professional support.

At Bupa, we appreciate that every resident is different, so

each person living with us has their own personal plan

that’s unique to them. This covers not only their care

needs, but also their personal preferences and tastes. We

also ask residents and their relatives to complete a ‘Map of

Life’ so we can really get to know each resident, and meet

their emotional and social, as well as physical needs.

We also offer our staff plenty of specialist training,

including our award-winning ‘Personal Best’ customer

service programme. Bupa Care Services is one of the

largest organisations to have Investor in People status,

reflecting this commitment to training and development.

A warm, homely environmentWhether they’re staying with us long-term or just for a

short period, we want every resident to feel very much at

home. We welcome visitors at any time, and we take care

to create comfortable, homely surroundings. We believe

in striking a balance between providing care and support

when it’s needed, and helping the resident to maintain

their independence – and we encourage each resident to

lead as full and active a life as possible. Our warm, friendly

atmosphere means that our residents can continue their

daily lives with privacy and dignity, in a safe, caring

environment.

Our homeA modern, purpose-built home, Greenfield has been

carefully designed to create a pleasant, well equipped

home for elderly people. Each house has a comfortable,

well furnished lounge and dining area which provides a

meeting place for residents to relax and entertain guests.

Our activities take place here, and they are also a place to

socialise, watch television or simply spend some quiet

time. We know how important it is to keep in touch with

friends and family, so our door is always open to guests.

Each house has its own garden which is often the setting

for afternoon tea or a game of boules. There is a potting

shed where green fingered residents can participate in the

gardening if they wish.

Our bedrooms are all attractively decorated to a high

standard. Each has a telephone and aerial point,

thermostatic radiators, smoke detectors and a 24-hour

nurse call system. To make their rooms feel as much like

home as possible, we encourage residents to bring in their

own belongings, such as pictures and ornaments.

Fresh and varied meals Meals are an important part of the day at Greenfield,

and our experienced chef creates a wide range of

balanced, nutritious dishes, prepared daily using only the

freshest produce.

Residents can choose to eat in our dining rooms, or in

their bedrooms if they prefer. All our menus are

nutritionally checked, and our chef caters for all tastes

and diets and we will discuss our residents’ preferences

and any special requirements they may have.

We also serve biscuits with mid-morning tea or coffee, and

cake with tea and coffee in the afternoon and drinks in

the evening.

Stimulating daily activitiesEveryday activities are extremely important for

encouraging healthy bodies and minds. They help to

bolster a resident’s strength and energy, improve their

appetite and humour, and offer an opportunity for them

to interact with staff and other residents. As well as

providing this physical and mental stimulation, activities

can also help give structure to a resident’s day and offer

them something to look forward to. This is why we like to

look at daily tasks, such as flower arranging or helping to

tidy up, as activities rather than chores. We also

appreciate how important it is to offer variety. So our

activity co-ordinator ensures there’s always something

enjoyable and stimulating to do for residents of all abilities

– from bingo, PAT dogs (Pet As Therapy) to garden club

and pamper sessions.

We have a hairdressing salon on-site which is open three

days a week. Entertainers visit the home regularly such as

local singers and we often hold fashion shows. Activities

don’t just take place in the home. We organise visits to

local places of interest such as city centre trips, pub

lunches and the local community centre.

Different types of careAt Greenfield, we treat every resident as an individual.

For this reason, we offer several types of stay depending

on the level of support required, from long-term care for

those who need daily nursing, to respite, dementia or

residential care. We also offer day care, post-operative

or convalescent care and care to people who have a

physical disability.

Bupa’s commitmentAt Bupa, we believe in the highest standards of care

and comfort, provided in a way that is individual to

every resident. We aim to achieve this by employing

dedicated, well-trained staff and providing comfortable

and homely surroundings. Bupa is a health and care

company that does not have any shareholders. As a result

it can reinvest all its profits into the business and focus

fully on its customers.
