Holiday dinners at my homeinclude family and always a fewfriends that cant make it homefor the holidays; at my table thereis always an extra chair and platefor an unexpected guest. We startwith a glass of bubbly and crab, aSan Francisco tradition (my hometown). Our meal includes ofvegan dishes, some fish and it isthe one time of year I cook meatfor the meat eaters in my life. One of my favorite side dishesto make is potatoes au gratin.seriously! It is the only timeof year I truly indulge. I makeit every year and sadly (or not)we never have any leftovers. It isbasically potatoes, butter, cream,Gruyere cheese more butter and

cream and my secret ingredienta hint of cinnamon! My favoritething to wear is my new Chai, long sleeve, floor length wrap dress.Lucky me, I have been wearingthe fit samples and have had somany compliments on it. Its socomfortable and sexy thinkEco-Chic meets Studio 54.

PERI wishes all a beautiful holidayseason filled with peace+love!

My friends & family, we are an eclectic internationalbunch of characters. I say this, as we are all sodifferent; entrepreneurs, socialites, free spirits, open-minded and or opinionated. Each and every singleone of us has a different opinion about the Holiday

Season. here are those that love everything aboutChristmas and what it stands for, Including WhamsLast Christmas. And there are those that are stillwondering what all the fuzz is about. But the onecommon denominator, the thing we all love, is thatthe holiday season is that time of the year where weall come together. We take some time off our busyschedules and reflect on the past year. Its also a timewhere we look for any excuse to open up anotherbottle of bubbles. We hope you too will take sometime off, party a little, reflect and be happy for all thesuccesses of the past year and all lessons learned. Useall your experiences of this year, your lifes lessons

wisely to make your next year even brighter.Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Every year it s starts at the same time, but it alwaysfeels like its the first time, December 1st and thelights switch on.A big tree is placed in the middleof the city center of Ljubljana and signifies the startof Christmas, a joyous time for people to cometogether. If there is snow, well......that really is theicing on the cake. he scenery makes for a greatfeel-good movie or a beautiful fairytale. In the oldtown of Ljubljana youll find a Christmas market

    with stands offering Christmas goodies.

And the best part a lot of them are serving mulledwine. For me that is a must-have, must-enjoy. Its adrink that signifies the arrival of the Holiday Seasonand thats how my friends and I officially open theHoliday Season.

A Happy holiday season to you all!

Not having a Christian background, instead ofcelebrating Christmas, Chinese celebrate theSpring Festival, also known as the Chinese NewYear. he date varies annually as it s celebratedbased on the lunar calendar.

o me he Chinese New Year, Chun Jie inChinese, means family gathering, the colour red& fireworks.here used to live a monster calledNian at the end of the year. He was horrible andtook away peoples food and belongings. Nian, the monster, was chased away during his rampageby people wearing red clothing and making loudnoises. Chines New year to wear red clothes andthe firework resembles the noise. raditionallycelebrations last for 15 days. During this timefamilies gather on the last day of the year and waitfor the final count down to welcome the New Year.

For children, part of the tradition is receivingRed Paper Pockets, these are filled with money.Plus this is the time to make lots of noise usingfirecrackers.

My favourite part is the fortune seeking in thedumplings. Some coins arehidden in a pot ofdumplings. If one of them happens to be on yourplate, this means youll have good luck throughoutthe next year. Our next New Year celebration isJanuary 31st 2014. Maybe a bit too early but Ialready wish you all a happy new year.

    WHAT DOES MISSVANDELEJ MEAN TO

YOU? IS IT JUST ABOUTIQUE OR DOES THEMISS REPRESENT THEPRODUCTS YOU ARESELLING?

    WHAT ERA IS YOURFAVOURITE?

    DO YOU HAVEA FAVOURITEINTERNATIONAL VINTAGESHOP?

    WHAT CAN WE EXPECT

    FROM MISS VANDELEJ INTHE FUTURE?

Miss Vandelej is my ID;my dreams, creativepassion and the desireto escape to some otherera. Miss Vandelej offersunique vintage clothing, secondhand clothing andaccessories, styling andphotography with a touchof the past and everythingelse that inspires me.Miss Vandelej does notnecessarily represent mypersonal style. Styling offashion photographs is acreative game where I tryto construct the ideas I get

while watching lms. I tendto exaggerate a little too. Awhile ago I watched

Clueless again andthat became the maininspiration behind my lastprojectVINTAGE: LOLITA

With the Miss Vandelejconcept I would also liketo stress the growing issuearound todays mainstreamfashion and introducevintage clothing as theicing on the cake, reneeven the simplest fashionstyle.

I dont have a specicfavourite fashion era. Im

inspired by impulses I getfrom the 50s Beatniks,Eddie Sedgwicks 60s style, everything Kate Hudsonwore as bohemian PennyLane in that 70s inspiredlm Almost fabulous, theeccentric 80s and thatcomfortable 90s grungefashion.

Most denitely Sputnik! Avintage store I discoveredon the high street ofReykjavik Laugavegur.

We will continue to workwith talented make upartists, aspiring fashionphotographers andbeautiful models and alsoparticipate in nostalgicfashion fairs that offervintage inspired fashion.I also dream of a Miss

Vandelej magazine and anactual store in the old partof town.

Do you make New Years resolutions? Most ofus do at some stage in our life. As Decemberdraws to a close, you make a list of great goalsand youre determined to stick to them as longas possible. But do you actually persevere? Andfor how long?

We all know that a lot of us stumble earlyon. Te idea of more exercise and no alcoholis great, but when its raining and you crave aglass of wine after a long day at work, its veryeasy to give in to temptation and open a bottleof Pinot and put up your feet in front of thetelly. So is there really any point in having NewYears resolutions at all?

Well, how do you feel when you think abouthaving resolutions? Do they make you excitedand energetic because you cant wait to see thebenefits and enjoy the changes they will createin your life? Or do you get that sinking, anxiousfeeling because you dread not being able to eat, drink or do all the things you want?

Your motivation is what counts. Why are youmaking these New Years resolutions in the firstplace? Do you feel you should workout more ordo you want to become fitter and look better?

Do you believe you should eat healthy foods

and drink less or do you wantto live a healthier life?

If you feel you should do something, its probably the outside world thats

your main motivator: web blogs extolling thevirtues of Bikram yoga or strict fitness regimes, friends swearing that carbs are the devils work.

If, however, you want to do something youreacting on a desire from within: you want to feelbetter by exercising more and eating healthierfoods, and you want to buy organic and ethicalclothes because you feel passionate abouthelping to protect the environment and createa fair society.

And guess which kind of motivation helpsyou succeed in the long term. Yep, of coursefollowing your passion is a much morepowerful motivator for making changes stickthan doing something because others say itsgood for you. But be careful, were all great attelling ourselves that we want to do something, when in fact we only think we should. Dontpeople always say they want to give up smokingand then they dont succeed? Well, perhapsthats because they dont really want to quit, and they only think they should.Setting goalsfor yourself is great, and its wonderful to wantto make positive changes in your life. But justbe honest with yourself and make sure yourNew Years resolutions come from your heart.Because your passions will keep you motivated, not just until January 3rd, but right throughthe entire year and beyond... if thats what youwant.

    HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!
