Mayfield Village Greenway Corridor Greenways serve as natural floodplains. Trails and greenways are hands-on environ- mental classrooms. To build a better li fe. Trails and greenways provide what many Americans seek—close-to- home recreational areas, community meeting places, educational experiences, natural land- scapes and beautification. They help commu- nities build pride by ensuring that their neighborhoods are good places to live where children can safely walk or bike to a park or school. In Mayfield Village, the Greenway Corridor will provide a safe walking and biking route from Center School on Wilson Mills Road to Park- view Pool, playgrounds, baseball and soccer fields, the Cuyahoga County Library’s new May- field Branch, and ultimately the North Chagrin Reservation of the Metroparks. Greenways and trails help make communities more attractive and friendly places to live. Greenways are corridors of protected open space managed for conservation and rec- reational purposes.
