Human beings tend to engage in behaviours that enhance the possibilityof acceptance and being liked. Reality television gives an insight into ways that can obtain this socialacceptance. 7. Question 2: How are these programs influencing our consumer purchasing decisions, particularly for products in intrinsicallylinked industries such as food, home improvement, entertainment and health?The Biggest Loser Promotes healthy living by encouraging people to eathealthy foods and to exercise. Motivate viewers to also want to participate in healthierlifestyles. Contributes to purchasing decisions related to food andhealth, such as, healthier food options, exercise equipment and gymmemberships. 8. Question 2: How are these programs influencing our consumer purchasing decisions, particularly for products in intrinsicallylinked industries such as food, home improvement, entertainment and health?Masterchef & My Kitchen Rules Two very popular reality shows. Encourages people to cook and experiment with differentfoods. Contributes to consumer purchasing behavioursrelated to cooking products. Using product placement and celebrity chef endorsementsto create connections with viewers and to influence theirpurchasing decisions towards food and cooking equipment. Has been a successful marketing tool for brands such as Coles. 9. Question 2: How are these programs influencing our consumer purchasing decisions, particularly for products in intrinsicallylinked industries such as food, home improvement, entertainment and health?The Block One of Australias highest rated programs. Renovation competition based reality program. Inspires normal people to do their own renovationsand home improvements.
