Introduction Group Parser provides a smart and robust functionality for the creation of Group PNR’s
booked outside of the Galileo GDS. Once the group is confirmed and all names have been
introduced in the airline system, all that is needed is a confirmation email from the airline. By
copying the information from the e-mail and pasting into the Group Parser window, a passive
PNR is created automatically. Group Parser works with the assumption that the confirmation
e-mail represents a copy of the ALTEA and Sabre system PNR. Any editing of the PNR may
result in PNR creation failure.
Benefits Group Parser is fast and efficient: Reduces transaction times from over 20 minutes to
only a few
Improves accuracy and process by ensuring an exact match between Active and Passive
PNR’s (Group Name, Class of travel, flight numbers, city pairs, airline vendor locator
and names)
Group Parser supports English, French Portuguese and Spanish. By default, the app picks
up the default Window’s language of the workstation where it is installed. English is the
default language for all computers with a default Window’s language other than French,
Portuguese or Spanish.
New in this release
Group Parser has the following enhancements from previous versions:
Support for Sabre group email;
Fully support of Open Jaw and ARNK segments
When processing the email the application shows what it is doing, and if an error occurs shows where it happened;
The program verifies if all INFs have date of birth, and in the correct format.

Installing Group Parser
Group Parser is an optional product within the Travelport portfolio. Access to download the
software will be provided by the customer’s sales representative.
Prerequisites
Microsoft Windows XP or later.
Galileo Desktop version 2.4 or above.
Microsoft Windows installer 3.0 or later.
Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1
Installation Details Group Parser is a single file install package and uses a standard windows installation
wizard.
Group Parser installs into the sub directories of C:\fp\swdir\CustomViewpoint.
Installation Steps
Close Smartpoint and Galileo Desktop.
During the installation you will be prompted to install for “just me” or “all users” either
can be selected but Travelport recommends “All users” be selected.
Run the EXE file or the MSI file and click next to step through the installation process.
o Note. if the file has been emailed to you will need to rename it before you can
run it. Typically the file name on email will end “.ex_” and should be renamed to
“.exe”.
Restart Galileo Desktop.

Using Group Parser
Getting started Before launching Group Parser ensure you are signed into Galileo and if using service bureau
please ensure you have emulated.
Ensure there is no active booking and launch Group Parser.
Starting Group Parser
Group Parser is started by:
Clicking the icon on the Galileo Desktop toolbar
Important notes on using Group Parser Group Parser must be used only for confirmed seats (all segments) and after all names
have been entered in the airline system.
The application has been developed specifically for Groups PNR’s created by airlines
hosted on ALTEA (1A) and Sabre (1S).
Group PNR’s created by airlines using other reservation systems are not supported.
If Custom Check rules are mandatory for all BF’s in your agency please insert the
required data before running Group Parser
Group Parser should not be used for Altea or Sabre hosted airlines supporting Claim PNR
for Groups, Drop Through or Limited Access Drop Through.
Do not use the app for testing, use it when you need to issue a Group, some airlines do
not allow duplicate Passive, even if you have cancelled the PNR, you may get an NO
status if a PNR with the same details (group name, passenger names, vendor locator,
itinerary …) is created.
Getting the PNR/Email from the Group Department
The Altea carrier has simply to retrieve the PNR, do the following entry RTN and copy and paste
the response into an email and send it to your agency.

Using Group Parser Dealing with Altea PNR’s
Start by opening the confirmation e-mail and for 1A PNRs position the cursor
immediately before the first character of the PNR Record Locator (Vendor Locator):
Select the text until the last character of the itinerary. Do not select other information
(contacts, OSI…) Positioning the mouse over the selected text do a right click and select copy
Go to Galileo Desktop
Click on the Group Parser Button to display the Group Integration window.

Position the cursor inside this window click on the right mouse button and select Paste.

The Group Data is pasted into the Group Integration window, click on Process. If everything
is correct, click on Create BF.
When using the App for the first time, the agency phone number must be entered, make sure
you enter numeric only.
The following message box will be shown
Clicking OK to close Group Parser app, the Group PNR will be displayed in Galileo Desktop.
Enter *ALL to view all sections of the PNR or *N to view only the names.
Dealing with Sabre PNR’s
Select, copy and paste the entire PNR into the Group Parser window and click on Process.
Click Process, an extension of the previous window shows the Group Name, Number of
Passengers and itinerary.

Smartpoint When using Group Parser with Travelport’s Smartpoint, you will need to click on “Refresh” on
the left hand side after the “Transaction completed with success” message box is displayed for the
PNR to be visible in Smartpoint.
Cancelling the Passive PNR Should you need to cancel the PNR, do it in Passive Cancellation mode :

Troubleshooting The examples below show Group Parser from a support and troubleshooting angle.
Please note; if a Galileo reference has not been returned, it indicates the PNR has not been saved
and is still active. These scenarios will help you determining why.
If Group Parser cannot end transact enter *R in Galileo to check the PNR and proceed as
follows:
Situation: The PNR has been created but no names have been transferred.
Explanation : The app could not endtransact because Custom Check detected that some
required information was missing
Solution :
1. Add the *missing information , enter a Receive From (R.initials)
2. repaste the whole data into Group Parser, click Process and Create BF (do not end
transact in the meantime).
Group Parser has now succesfuly transfer the names
*Custom Check rules and PNR data are agency specifics; the above screen copy was given
for illustration purposes

Situation : non supported element have been pasted in the Group Parser
application (phone number and ticketing field in this example). For Altea, only the
itinerary and the names have to been pasted in the application.
Solution : remove line 13 and14 and click on Process

Situation: all flights are not processed by Group Parser
Explanation: a line number is missing, GOI DOH should be segment 13 not 14 and
DOH CDG should be 14 not 15.
Solution: Renumber the lines.

Situation: The PNR has been created however some flights are missing
Explanation: check if the missing flight(s) are shown in Galileo
Solution: Sell from Interactive Display (direct access)
Missing segment added to BF.

The status is changed to NO.
Display the vendor remark (*VR) to find out the reason, generally, passive segments are
rejected for one of two reasons : duplicated passive or mismatch between the Active and
Passive PNR.
NO may also indicate that the PNR data you pasted from your email does not match the
airline PNR, the mismatch could be on the number of passengers, date, city pair, class
booked …
