Term 4 Week 1
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
Dear Parents, Carers, Community Members, Staff and Students
I have only been in the school a few days and I would like to thank the entire
community for making me feel so welcome. Today I visited a number of classes and
was very impressed by the work that all the students were engaged in. The students
have been very friendly and welcoming and I am looking forward to getting to know
everyone as the term goes on.
As mentioned in the newsletter last term, I have nearly 27 years of experience working
in Western Australian public schools. I am looking forward to working with the staff,
the P&C and the School Board to carry on the great work that the school does to help
students achieve their full potential. Should parents or community members wish to
speak with me please make an appointment with the front office.
On Monday, staff were at school engaged in school development. All staff had some
professional learning about Autism and teachers spent time analysing this year’s
NAPLAN results with a view to planning to continue improving our already good
results. I was very impressed with the work ethic and dedication of the staff.
Planning has already commenced for 2019 and it is very important that we have
accurate enrolments numbers. If your child is currently in Kindy to year 5 and you are
aware that your child will not be returning to Bletchley Park next year can you please
let the school know as soon as possible. If you live in the school catchment area and
have a child who will be in Kindergarten next year please complete your enrolment
forms to avoid missing out on a placement.
This term will again be a busy one for staff and students. School photos have been
this week from Wednesday to Friday and tonight we have our inaugural Astronomy
Night. Some of the other activities include:
PP – Year 2 swimming
K & PP Sports carnival
P&C Disco
Book Fair
Year 6 Graduation
I will endeavour to be around the school before and after school so please feel free to
introduce yourself.
Regards
Craig Skinner

LA12 Middle Assembly 21st September 2018
Today LA 12 educated the Year 3 and 4 students on internet safety. It was a great lesson for all the students. They sang the song “Internet Safety” by One Direction and acted out some of the lyrics to underline the safety messages. Congratulations Ms Snell and the wonderful student in LA 12… your assembly was outstanding.

Day for Daniel – Wear Red and Educate
Friday 26th
October (Week 3)
Our School will be participating in Day for Daniel again this year. DFD is a “National Day of Action” and an initiative of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, which focuses on educating children and adults about keeping kids safe through child safety, and protection initiatives. It aims to help empower our children to Recognise, React and Report if they feel something is not right.
Students are encouraged to wear a red shirt on the day. An age appropriate lesson aimed at child safety will also be delivered on the day.
Students are also asked to bring a gold coin donation, which will be passed on, to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

Massed Choir Festival 2018
Last term the school choir participated in the Massed Choir Festival for the first time. This concert set a very high standard for choral singing with nine school choirs harmonising ten songs all together on stage at the Perth Concert Hall. The choir conducted themselves beautifully, with other schools commenting on their fantastic singing and behaviour. Jemima Pinto Menezes was selected as soloist for two of the songs and sang beautifully with confidence. The choir worked so hard over two terms with extra rehearsals to perfect the songs and I was so proud to watch them on stage, their choreography perfect and harmonies spot-on. They all thoroughly deserved their place on the stage.
Well done Bletchley Park Primary Choir! Mrs Taylor Music Teacher
