Thursday, October 16, 2014 7 www.thegrundyregister.com Grundy Register FOR THE RECORD GRUNDY COUNTY Sheriff’s Department The Dike-New Hartford Board of Education met on October 6, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room for a special meeting with Hinde pre- siding and members Koop, Lizer and Nielsen. Lotts was absent. Also present was administrator Hunt. The primary purpose of the special meeting was to review Superintendent Hunt’s recent performance evaluation. On motion of Lizer and second of Nielsen, the board went into closed session as provided in section 21.5(1)(i) of the open meetings law to evaluate the professional competency of an in- dividual whose appointment and performance is being considered to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation, as that individual has requested a closed ses- sion. Roll call vote: Nielsen-aye, Lizer-aye, Koop-aye, Hinde-aye. Lotts arrived at 5:45 p.m. On motion of Lizer and second of Koop the board came out of closed session at 7:00 p.m. Roll call: Hinde-aye, Koop-aye, Lizer-aye, Lotts-aye, Nielsen-aye. An Administration/Board work session will be held on Monday, October 20 at 5:30 followed by the regular board meeting. Being no further business, the meeting ad- journed at 7:35 p.m. HOLLAND CITY COUNCIL MEETING October 6, 2014 The Holland City Council met in regular session at the Holland Community Center on Monday, October 6, 2014. Mayor Borchardt called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Council members present were Blythe:, Hansen, Cox, School- man, Beck Absent: None Hansen made a motion to approve the minutes, 2nd by Beck, all ayes, motion carried. Mike Wildung was not present for the water / sewer report. Councilman Hansen introduced the following Resolution entitled “RESOLUTION 157 Hol- land-Harms Land Purchase 2014” and moved that it be adopted. Councilman Schoolman seconded the motion to adopt and the roll being called thereon, the vote was as follows: AYES: Blythe:, Hansen, Cox, Schoolman, Beck NAYS: None Whereupon, the Mayor declared said Resolu- tion duly adopted as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Holland is desirous of obtaining land locally known as 2nd Avenue North within the municipal boundaries, and WHEREAS, Greg Harms owns said land and is willing to sell said parcel to the City for $1000.00 less expenses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Holland, Iowa, that the Mayor shall and he is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary for the com- pletion of the land locally known as 2nd Avenue North from Greg Harms for a price no greater than $1000.00. DONE AND ADOPTED this 6th day of October, 2014. A one vehicle accident occurred October 12 at 1:55 AM on Hwy 20 at the 215 mile marker. BRIAN GERST, age 44, Waterloo, was east- bound on Hwy 20 when a deer en- tered the roadway and was struck Gerst’s 2009 Chevrolet received an estimated $7,000 damage. No sum- mons, no injury. Investigated by GRUNDY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE. A one vehicle accident occurred October 12 at 2:00 PM on 260th Street west of T-55. AMANDA GRUNKLEE, age 16, Reinbeck, was eastbound and stated she heard a loud bump and noise from her ve- hicle. She stated the vehicle went to the north, she overcorrected and it spun back to the south. The vehicle entered the south ditch, rolling once and coming to rest on its wheels. Grunklee’s 2002 Pontiac received an estimated $2,000 damage. No sum- mons. Investigated by GRUNDY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE.
