LIMPIEZA DE NIEVE

¡La temporada de invierno está sobre nosotros!

¡La Parroquia necesita ayuda con la limpieza de nieve! Ne-

cesitamos personas que puedan utilizar el soplador de nieve

para retirar la nieve de las aceras alrededor de la parroquia

y la escuela. Se le pagará por su tiempo. La parroquia nece-

sita a alguien que sea confiable, porque este trabajo es so-

bre la seguridad de nuestra gente en la parroquia y la escue-

la.

Este Lunes, 19 de Febrero es Día De Los Presidentes. La iglesia solo tendrá una misa bilingüe a las 9:00a.m.

RECUERDA DURANTE CUARESMA

No se permiten flores en la iglesia

No habrá registraciones para bautizos

No se renta el gimnasio ni la cafetería

CUARESMA

Durante el tiempo de Cuaresma, los feligreses debe hacer

penitencia mediante oraciones, ayuno, abstinencia y con

servicios comunitarios

ABSTINENCIA

Todos aquellos que ya han cumplido los 14 años debe de

abstenerse a comer carne todos los Viernes durante la

Cuaresma.

AYUNO

Todos los que son mayores de 18 años, hasta los 59 años

de edad deben hacer ayuno durante el Miércoles de Ceni-

za, 14 de Febrero y el Viernes Santo, 30 de Marzo. Sólo

una comida completa es permitida en los días de ayuno.

Las otras dos comidas deben ser solo una pequeña por-

ción. Comer entre comidas no es permitido, pero los líqui-

dos son permitidos. La obligación no se aplica a aquellos

cuya salud o su capacidad para trabajar se vería seriamente

afectada. La gente en duda acerca del ayuno o la abstinen-

cia debe consultar con el sacerdote de la parroquia.

Elijah Cup~La Copa de Elias

We invite all families who would like to pray for more reli-gious vocations to take the Elijah Cup home. You can stop by the parish office to register for next month. It is a wonderful experience that you and your family won’t want to miss.

This Easter, as in the past, we are giving you the opportunity to have a beautiful plant placed around the altar in memory of a de-ceased family member or friend. If you would like to donate a memorial plant, please come to the priory office as soon as possible and give the name of the persons to be memo-rized. Each plant is $15.00.

PROCESION

Todos los años la Iglesia de St. Simón Stock-San José se

prepara para la procesión del Viernes Santo, pedimos la

colaboración de nuestros parroquianos para que este año la

procesión sea todo un éxito. Necesitamos voluntarios que

participen en la procesión este año. Los ensayos serán los

martes en el gimnasio de la escuela a las 7pm.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to partici-

pate in our annual Good Friday procession, Stations of the

Cross in the streets of our community. Rehearsals will be

on Tuesday’s at 7:00 pm in the school gym.

Presidents’ Day

This Monday, February 19th is President’s Day. There will be only one mass at 9:00a.m. (bilingual)

(The Parish Office will be CLOSED from 9 am to 4pm)

LENT

The Christian faithful are to do penance through prayer,

fasting, abstinence and by exercising works of piety and

charity.

ABSTINANCE

All who have reached their 14th birthday are to abstain

from eating meat on all Fridays during Lent

FASTING

All those who are 18 and older, until their 59th birthday,

are to fast on Ash Wednesday, February 14th and Good

Friday, March 30th. Only one full meal is allowed on days

of fast. Two other meals, sufficient may be taken but to-

gether, they should not equal a full meal. Eating between

meals is not permitted, but liquids are allowed. The obli-

gation does not apply to those whose health or ability to

work would be seriously affected. People in doubt about

fast or abstinence should consult a parish priest.
