PROGRESS REPORT
Certificate Course on “Environment Impact Assessment (EIA)” under Green Skill Development Program (GSDP)
Organised by ENVIS HUB, EPTRI
Sponsored by EI‐Division, MoEF&CC, Government of India
Duration 16th December 2019 to 1st February,2020 (300 Hrs Course ) Venue EPTRI, Hyderabad
The Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India,
has taken up an initiative for the Skill Development in the Environment and Forest sector to
enable unemployed youth to get gainful employment. This programme endeavours to impart
Green Skilled working skill to candidates having minimum technical knowledge and aptitude
in the respective field which contributes to the Sustainable Development.
A growing shortage of persons with hand on experience in Environmental Impact Assessment
(EIA) is needed as the developmental activities of the nation are mostly looked along with the
environment protection. It is vital to conform socio-economic development projects to
environmental safety and thereby ensure sustainable economic development. Keeping in view
of this, the EI Division, MoEFCC has awarded a Certificate Course on “Environment Impact
Assessment” under Green Skill Development Programme to ENVIS HUB, EPTRI. The target
group for this course are science and Engineering graduates. Therefore, this certificate course
would serve as a source of employment in various Environment Consultancy, pollution
control Boards, Environmental Laboratories, and as well as in all the industries who are
having Environment wings as there is a huge demand of Skilled Environmental Experts.
A total of 23 participants (List enclosed as Annexure I with attendance sheet) have
undergone training under Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) on “Environmental
Impact Assessment (EIA)” at EPTRI, Hyderabad from 116th December 2019 to 1st
February,2020. Among the 23 participants 14 are female candidates and 9 are male
candidates. The participants belonged to different castes, 2 of BC‐D, 3 of BC‐B, 4 of OBC, 5
of SC and 7 from General category. The students were imparted theory and practical
knowledge by conducting Laboratory exposure and field visits. There were taken to Common
Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), Jeedimetla and Amberpet (STP) and Medipally Open Cast
Mine, Ramagundam area. The students received the certificate from MoEF&CC, GoI.
