For those who may not know much about this program, each year the District hosts an inbound team of young profes- sionals between the ages of 25 and 40 from a paired district around the world on a 4 or 5 week vocational and cultural exchange. In turn, we select an out- bound team consisting of a Rotarian Team Leader and a group of four non-Rotarians, who have been employed in their profession for at least 2 years and who are not related to a Rotarian to undertake a re- ciprocal exchange. This year we will be hosting a team from District 2060 in Italy. Interviews for the Team Leader take place November 16th. Interviews for the outbound team members will take place on December 3rd all day in Cambridge. Please spread the word and identify some potential candidates for this program, which many consider to be one of the best opportunities offered by Rotary International. travel grants for a four person team and a Rotarian team leader to travel to RI District 2060 in the area around Vincenza,
Italy from May 12—June 10, 2012.
We are looking for an experienced Rotarian who wishes to use her or his team building, leadership and communication
skills to provide guidance and management to an enthusiastic and focused group of non Rotarian team members be-
tween the ages of 25 and 40. The exchange requires a month out of the country and preparation for the exchange re-
quires weekly meetings from the time of team member selection to the departure date for the Exchange.
Applicants for Team Leader must be:
Be available for interviews on November 16th in the evening in Cambridge at AECON and also be avail-
able to participate in a full day selection session to pick team members(8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on Saturday,
December 3rd in Cambridge at AECON
Willing to guide the team in preparation and will be the Rotarian leader/District representative on the
exchange. . The Team Leader will participate with the GSE Committee in the team’s selection, prepara-
tion for the exchange and will lead the team to presentations in the District after their return. The team
leaders will also need to prepare themselves, by learning, along with the team members, the language,
customs, geography, economics, religion or spirituality, and other basics about the District .

idea behind this exciting program is to give young business and professional men and women
between the ages of 25 and 40 a unique opportunity to experience a cultural and vocational exchange. The program
provides travel grants for a four person team and a Rotarian team leader to travel to RI District 2060 in the area around

While in Italy, the team members are being hosted by local Rotarians. The chosen team members will study the institu-
tions, the Italian way of life and observe their own vocations as practiced in Italy. The program is planned by the host-
ing Rotarians and their clubs.
Applicants must be between the ages 25 and 40
Be fully employed with at least two years of work experience in their chosen field
Be personable, articulate, cooperative, motivated team players and enthusiastic about their vocations
Be a Canadian citizen
Be prepared to spend considerable time in preparation for the trip. Team members will give verbal and
audiovisual presentations in Italy
Can not be related to a Rotarian or be a Rotarian

GSE to District 2060, Italy
A Little History of District 2060 District 2060 includes the following areas: - Veneto, - Trentino Alto Adige and - Friuli Venezia Giulia. District 2060 was created by the split of the original Italian's District called 46 and then 87. District 87 was split in 4 Districts, including District 88, later called 86 and then 206. In the Rotarian year 1991-1992, District 206 became 2060, until today (see Rotary International history in Italy, by clicking here). Nowadays (september 2008) Rotary International District 2060 is composed of 81 Rotary Clubs and 4,837 Rotarians. It is located in the rich north-east of Italy and it comes up to the border with Austria (in both Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia). The territory is really patchy: you can walk through the Pianura Padana (Padan Plain - or Po Valley) in Vicenza, Verona, Padua up to Venice; from Venice to Trieste we can see wonderful seasides, on the Adriatic Sea. Going up to Trentino Alto Adige and Cadore area (Belluno's province), Dolomites are everywhere in a breathtaking landscapes. In the main district's cities, we may see Trieste, located in the borderline with Slovenia, which has 2 Clubs and the first one (called just Trieste) was the second founded in Italy, after Milan. Venice, a wonderful art city on the Laguna of Adriatic sea, has 4 Clubs; Padua which own a very important university, has 5 Clubs. Follows Vicenza, with 3 Clubs and then Verona (the city of Romeo and Juliet) with 6 Rotary Clubs. In Trentino Alto Adige, both Trento and Bolzano has just one (but important) Rotary Club each.
