HILL LODGE HOUSE RULES GENERAL

We have some house rules that need to be respected in order to make

your stay and that of others as comfortable as possible. For one, we ask

our guests to respect each other's privacy. Another one is that we have

taken much attention in the interior of the house. We much appreciate it if

our guests will be careful with the objects in the house. Accidents are

always possible, but damages need to be paid for.

TRANQUILLITY

Please respect each other’s well deserved sleep and try to be quiet should

you come in at a late hour. Noise on stairways and in corridors will not be

accepted. Please respect our neighbours.

SECURITY

Always lock the door and close the windows of your room when you leave.

CLEANLINESS/ PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Your personal things have to be kept in the rooms and out of the way for

other persons. Rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, halls, stairways and

common/shared rooms should be kept tidy and clean at all time.

SMOKING SMOKING IS STRICTLY NOT PROHIBITED IN THE PROPERTY AND IF CAUGHT YOU

WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. Smoking is allowed outside of the house. Don’t

throw your cigarettes in the garden, there is an ashtray.

ALCOHOL/ DRUGS

-The trade or use of drugs and alcohol abuse are also not permitted.

THEFT/ LOSS & PEROSNAL INJURY

We accept no responsibility for any loss, accident, personal injury, medical

expenses or property damage caused by personal negligence or by any

other circumstances beyond our control. When you fail to comply with the

House rules we are forced to immediately terminate your stay. We ask for

your understanding and cooperation regarding the House rules at Hill

Lodge. This is to ensure that everyone has a good stay here.

MOVING OF FURNITURE


Guests have to respect the decoration of the room. We do not allow that

furniture is moved from the room to be placed elsewhere.

BELLE VUE PARK

The award winning Belle Vue Park has everything you need for a perfect family day.

The park has excellent leisure and play facilities suitable for children of all ages, a

small pet's trail, manicured gardens, a skate park, tennis courts and a large open

space perfect for picnics or simple relaxation. In the warmer months a refreshment

cabin is open selling snacks, ice creams and hot and cold drinks. Toilets are also

available on site.

The park is also used to stage the town's largest annual event - Party in the Park - a

free summer spectacular which features a range of exciting entertainment and

Gainsborough's House History Museums Gainsborough’s House explores the life and art of Thomas Gainsborough. One of the greatest artists of his age, he is renowned throughout the world for his portrait and landscape paintings. The house, ‘a most excellent Brickt Mansion,’ was bought by John Gainsborough, the artist’s father, in May 1722. Thomas Gainsborough (1727-88) was born in Sudbury and was baptized there at the Independent Meeting-House in Friars Street on 14 May 1727. He lived here until around 1740 when, as a young teenager, he was sent to London to pursue a career as an artist. He returned to Sudbury in the spring of 1749 until 1752 when he painted his celebrated Mr and Mrs Andrews. He never lost the influence of his native town and county. ‘Nature was his teacher, and the woods of Suffolk his academy,’ noted an obituary after his death in 1788. LOCATION
