The game starts out by giving you a chance to rename Luso, so change hisname if you want. Then you will be prompted to answer a series of questions.Your responses here will affect the clan privileges you get to start outwith. Clan privileges are enhancements that affect your entire party duringbattle. The choices are as follows:

Move your Black Mage behind the boulder and start || shooting Fire spells at Klesta from there. But take note that any allied || unit that is within range of your attacks will receive damage as well. || || As for your White Mage, keep her close to your battle party and heal || allied units when needed. Luso starts out as a Soldier. You can either || have him move in to attack the 2 Cockatrices, or go for Klesta. And you || cannot control Cid, so just watch him do whatever he wants. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oSave your game by accessing the "Systems Menu" option in the main menu. The "Unit Info" option allows you to customize your units (change jobs and equipments, set abilities, etc.). Continue onwards into Wood Village. You will have an opportunity to renameyour clan during the dialogue, so go on and change "Gully" to something elseif you like. Back at the area map, head over to the Pub. There, pay 100 gilto accept the only quest available. After that, check out the shop then theBazaar. You can choose anyone you || like, but personally I recommend both mages, the Bangaa Warrior, Luso, || and the Thief moogle. The mission begins with another brief basics || explanation from Cid. || || First off, avoid using any kind of fire-based attack in this mission. || And with that said, simply have your units gang up on the enemies to get || this over with. Though you might want to keep the enemies around long || enough for your Thief to snag some gil from each of them. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------o Return to the village once again, and Cid will leave your party for a bit.Visit the shops if you want. Also, there are some quests posted at the Pub.Go in there when you're ready. Another thing to remember is that you are not || permitted to use any ice-based abilities here. Keep that in mind. || || Stay put and have your enemies come to you, then once they are in range, || move your units and begin your assault. Though the Thief isn't that || dangerous, I recommend that you take him out as quickly as you can, to || avoid getting your gil stolen. Have your Black Mage cast Thunder, paying || attention to where you aim it to avoid damaging allied units. || || Next, move your melee units behind their targets whenever possible to || deal some extra damage. Keep the White Mage nearby to heal your party if || necessary. Again, watch where you aim to avoid healing the enemy. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oA path to the world map will open. Ignore the exit for now and return tothe Pub. There are plenty of new quests available, and you will be able toaccess the Clan Trials as well. Completing the trials will give significantboosts to your clan's talents. The terrain plus || your guests make it rather tricky to engage targets through direct || attacks. Therefore, ranged units will prove useful. Have your Green Mage || or anyone with access to Green Magicks, put the enemies to sleep. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oA path to the Baptiste Highroad will open. There are new quests and clantrials available at the Pub too. You might also want to have a look at theBazaar to see if you can unlock some new equipments for the shop.____________________________________________________________________________Mission 05 - Wanted: Ughor [02b-m5]o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------o| Quest Rank : 08 | Quest Type : Headhunt || Time Limit : --- | Members : 06 || Quest Fee : 200 | Location : Baptiste Hill || Required Items : --- | Cancel : No || Clan Talents : --- | Dispatch : No |o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------oQuest Objective : Defeat Ugohr!Quest Rewards : Holy Stone x3, Healing Water x4, Moonwood x3.Forbidden : Restoring MPLaw Bonus : Cruzle Brass, Sturdy Vine, Phoenix Down.o---------------o| Mission Notes |o---------------o----------------------------------------------------------o| || All enemies besides the mark are weak to water, so if you have access to || the said magic then by all means use it. Just rememember not to use any || item or ability that will restore your MP. Engage targets from the side || or back whenever possible to wear them down faster. Put the enemies to || sleep with your Green Mage. Blinding the Great Tortoise is a good idea, || It should keep the mark's rather bothersome counterattacks from hitting. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oReturn to Camoa and Adelle will join your clan after a short dialogue. Sogo on and hire her. A path leading to the Bisga Greenlands will open. Usethat path to reach the city of Graszton. But again, you may want to clearsome more extra quests before going there.-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=GRASZTON [02c]-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=Check out the shop when you regain control after some story events. Sendloot over to the Bazaar to unlock some new equipments, then buy them fromthe shop. Head to the Pub once you're ready for the next mission.____________________________________________________________________________Mission 06 - Wanted: Gilmunto [02c-m6]o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------o| Quest Rank : 12 | Quest Type : Headhunt || Time Limit : --- | Members : 06 || Quest Fee : 300 | Location : The Aldanna Range || Required Items : --- | Cancel : No || Clan Talents : --- | Dispatch : No |o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------oQuest Objective : Defeat Gilmunto!Quest Rewards : Succulent Fruit x3, Storm Stone x5, Quality Pelt x2.Forbidden : FireLaw Bonus : Sanative Needle, Battle Boots, Knot of Rust.o---------------o| Mission Notes |o---------------o----------------------------------------------------------o| || The creatures here can deal considerable amount of damage, so always be || ready to heal whenever needed. If you have a unit that has access to || status magics, cast Blind the Worgens, then Silence on the Jelly and || Thunder Drake. The mark is immune to negative statuses so don't bother. || || Gilmunto uses Dragon Force, which is a Blue Magic skill, to boost the || attack and magic parameters of surrounding units. Have your Black Mages || cast Blizzard every turn, and don't use Thunder on lightning-based || enemies to avoid healing them. || || Gimunto, Thunder Drake, and Yellow Jelly use Lightning to heal each || other. Silence the latter two, to keep them from using the said spell. || As always, attack from the back or side when possible. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oTake a trip back to Graszton, then to the Pub. Do some quests and clantrials if you like. You can have a look at the Bazaar to see what you canget as well. After doing all that, continue on with the story.____________________________________________________________________________Mission 07 - Now that's a Fire [02c-m7]o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------o| Quest Rank : 14 | Quest Type : Battle || Time Limit : --- | Members : 06 || Quest Fee : 300 | Location : Zedlei Forest || Required Items : --- | Cancel : No || Clan Talents : --- | Dispatch : No |o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------oQuest Objective : Defeat all foes!Quest Rewards : Platinum x5, Agathis x3, Suspect Mushroom x1.Forbidden : Restoring MPLaw Bonus : Water Stone, Aged Linen Thread, Phoenix Down.o---------------o| Mission Notes |o---------------o----------------------------------------------------------o| || All enemies are weak against Ice. So Black Mages or any unit that can || use Blizzard is a good choice for this mission. The Floating Eye's Gnaw || attack can inflict Poison, but if you chose Regen as a clan privilege || earlier, then this shouldn't be a problem. Also, all targets can deal || considerable damage on your characters, so beware of back attacks. || || The Red Jelly can inflict Oil, which makes your units more vulnerable to || fire. But the one thing you should really worry about here is the Bombs, || since these will self-destruct when they get close to your units. Kill || them before this happens, or heal immediately if it hits. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oThe Auction Houses in Camoa and Graszton are now open. You can access it bypressing A on a city or town at the area map. This feature allows you to gain control of certain areas, and earn privileges for your clan whenever you visit a controlled area. Anyway, read the rules then participate in theauctions to see for yourself how the bidding works. In addition, the "Clan Territories" option will be added to the Clan Info submenu.____________________________________________________________________________Mission 08 - Pearls in the Deep [02c-m8]o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------o| Quest Rank : 17 | Quest Type : Defeat Mark || Time Limit : --- | Members : 06 || Quest Fee : 300 | Location : The Galerria Deep || Required Items : --- | Cancel : No || Clan Talents : --- | Dispatch : No |o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------oQuest Objective : Defeat the Lord of the Flowsand!Quest Rewards : 3490 gil, Zingu Pearl Shell x8.Forbidden : Actions by Nu MouLaw Bonus : Iron Carapace, Iron Helm, Echo Herbs.o---------------o| Mission Notes |o---------------o----------------------------------------------------------o| || Form a battle party with 2 characters that can use Cure or Cura, along || with a Bishop or Illusionist, since all the enemies here are weak to || wind-based attacks. The Antlions will just keep coming even after you || kill the ones onscreen, so either ignore them or put them to sleep. || || As for the mark, it uses Gravity Flux which damages all your units that || are within range. To counter this, quickly have your healing units use || curative spells when their turn comes up. The other attack you should || worry about is Draw In, which drains your unit's HP. || || Don't bother casting debuffs on it too. Instead, have your units, || preferably magicians throw their strongest spells at the target. You || should not have a problem with HP management as long as your healers do || their job every turn they get. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oAfter the dialogue with Cid, visit the Bazaar to see what new equipmentsyou can get. You may also take part in the auctions if the auction house isopen. Head to the Pub and do some sidequests or clan trials if you like.____________________________________________________________________________Mission 09 - Mountain Watch [02c-m9]o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------o| Quest Rank : 20 | Quest Type : Defeat Mark || Time Limit : --- | Members : 06 || Quest Fee : 400 | Location : The Rupie Mountains || Required Items : --- | Cancel : No || Clan Talents : --- | Dispatch : No |o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------oQuest Objective : Defeat Ewen!Quest Rewards : 2450 gil, Gemsteel x3, Spiral Incisor x3.Forbidden : Iceo---------------o| Mission Notes |o---------------o----------------------------------------------------------o| || Clan privileges don't matter here since your judge has been barred from || battle. Ewen himself can't do much besides counter, but he can't really || use that if you hit him from afar. Ewen is immune to debuffs though so || don't bother. The Ninja, Sniper, and Assassin can inflict a variety of || status ailments. The Time Mage mostly uses buffs on himself instead of || his allies. Thus you need not worry about them getting the upper hand. || || If you have a Red Mage have her cast Protect, as the enemies can hit || hard. Try Blinding the Sniper and the Ninja when you can. Just have your || long-ranged units attack from a distance, hitting multiple targets if || possible, while your melee characters move in for direct combat. Lastly, || make sure somebody has the Item command available, so that you can use || items to remove Silence or Poison. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oGo back to Graszton for a dialogue with Cid, who then tells you to head forthe Aerodrome in Moorabella. Feel free to do some quests, purchase items,participate in auctions, or clear the clan trials before moving on. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=MOORABELLA [02d]-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=Well it appears the airship is out of order because some guy decided to messwith it. Go to the Pub, accept your next mission and head to the Aerodrome.____________________________________________________________________________Mission 10 - Grounded! [02d-m10]o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------o| Quest Rank : 21 | Quest Type : Defeat Mark || Time Limit : --- | Members : 05 || Quest Fee : 400 | Location : Moorabella || Required Items : --- | Cancel : No || Clan Talents : --- | Dispatch : No |o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------oQuest Objective : Defeat Genius Ed!Quest Rewards : 4780 gil, Aqua Galac x2, Red Geeps x2.Forbidden : Harming the Weako---------------o| Mission Notes |o---------------o----------------------------------------------------------o| || Your opponents' levels range from 20 to 25, so if your battle party's || levels are higher than that, then you will end up violating the law no || matter what you do. You will have Vaan as a guest character here too. || || The mark is Ed, the Sage and he's got a White Mage, Time Mage, Fusilier, || and Berserker as his allies. They will all be marching towards you and || pile up at some point. This makes it easy to gang up on a single target || Have your strongest melee units do so to score some quick kills. Your || mages can hit multiple targets during the pile up too, so take advantage || of this. I suggest you take White Mage out first. || || Ed has a move that can Poison your units. Make sure someone has the Item || command available, so you can use those Antidotes when needed. Though || that isn't a problem if you chose Regen as a clan privilege. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oEnter the Aerodrome after the story event and buy a ticket. The airship willtake you to another continent, landing on Fluorgis.-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=FLUORGIS [02e]-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=Cid will join your clan here; go ahead and hire him. Head to the pub whereplenty of new quests are now available. Clear them first if you like. Headto the Aerodrome and fly back to Moorabella to finish the quests in thatcontinent before returning to Fluorgis. ____________________________________________________________________________Rumors Abound [02e-m11]o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------o| Quest Rank : 22 | Quest Type : Battle || Time Limit : --- | Members : 06 || Quest Fee : 400 | Location : Tramdine Fens || Required Items : --- | Cancel : No || Clan Talents : --- | Dispatch : No |o------------------------------------o-------------------------------------oQuest Objective : Defeat all foes!Quest Rewards : 2770 gil, Rainbow Thread x1, Pink Tail x2.Forbidden : CopycatLaw Bonus : Silver Bow, Great Serpent's Fang.o---------------o| Mission Notes |o---------------o----------------------------------------------------------o| || First off all the enemies here are weak to Holy, so deploy some Paladins || and give them the Saint Cross or Parley abilities. You are fighting || undead creatures, which means that their HPs will just be reduced to 0 || when they die, then will be revived when left alone long enough. To get || around this have your unit stand next to a tombstone and use Exorcise on || it. This will permanently remove the target from battle. Note that || Exorcise is most effective when used on a "dead" (0 HP) enemy. || || The Floating Eyes use Death Dive when at critical HP. This deals massive || damage usually over 100 HP. Quickly heal whoever gets hit. The Ghosts || have "Touch" abilities that usually cause Silence and Sleep. They also || use these to heal their allies. The Wraith casts Darkra and can resummon || Ghosts using Wake the Dead. It also has Flash which inflicts Blind. || || Have your Paladins use their holy-based abilities when standing behind a || target for maximum damage (100+ HP per hit). Use Rend Magick on the || Wraith to weaken its Darkra spell. When an enemy dies, have Cid or a || White Monk use Exorcise on the tombstone to remove it from battle. The || Wraith will vanish when its HP goes critical. Simply wait for it show up || again then kill it. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oAfter completing the mission, return to the closest town for some morestory events. You may use Rend Magick on it to weaken the latter attack. The || Wraiths uses Flash which inflicts Blind, and also has Darkra. || || Have your Black Mages throw spells from distance while the Paladins move || in and use Saint Cross on the enemies. It will be better if you can land || a back attack with this to maximize damage. Equip gear that provides || immunity to or absorbs Dark element. This should keep you safe from the || Oversoul's Darkga attack. Otherwise just heal with Cura when it hits. || || Also, you can try using the Paladin's Sanctify ability to instantly get || rid of an undead target. The move has a low accuracy rating (40%) but it || will make this battle a lot easier if it connects. The White Monk's || Exorcise ability works too, though Sanctify has better accuracy. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oHead back to the nearest town, and watch the Bard perform at the pub. Hewill then leave a bill for the barman to post. Keep up the assault for a few turns, and the Alchemist's || creations will fall dead before they even get near you. || || The Ranger will stay at the far end of the area, setting traps. Just let || him be and aim for the Alchemist to save time. The mark seems to be || rather helpless, so just keep hitting her until she joins the Golems. || || You will then receive a Strawood, which will be used to create the || instrument the Bard wants. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oTravel back to town once again, and the Bard will give you a Spiral Vinealong with 2500 gil. Head to the Bazaar and build the equipment listedunder "Hurdy's Request". Then buy it at the shop. Some more story events will follow then Hurdy will join your clan. You will not have to worry about || much of anything when your opponents can't act. Just pick them off one || by one. Recast the status when it fades. Also, send || units that can hit multiple targets at once. An Elementalist is a pretty || good choice too. || || It's a bit troublesome to uphold the law here, so just violate it. The || opposing army has a Lanista, Berserker, Gladiator, Bishop, & 2 Rangers. || Do pay attention to their elemental immunities as well. Move your units || along the mountain, while the mages hit whoever they can along the way. || || The Lanista has Reflect on though. Try to avoid hitting it with magicks || as much as possible. Have your Elementalist use Fire Whip to Disable any || enemy on the way up the mountain. This area is filled with traps too; do || watch your step, especially as you get closer to the top, because the || enemy's Ranger is there. For the 1st round you will be up || against Illua and her goons. She is a Nightshade and the rest of her || army consists of a Nightfall (Ewen), Spellblade, Elementalist, Seer, and || Illusionist. Pay attention to each unit's elemental affinities too. || Your judge will be barred from this battle, so don't bother with any || clan privelege. || || Before doing this mission, you might want to buy some equipments that || will boost your party's resistance, since you will really need it here. || Illua's Dimensional Rift attack deals massive damage to your units. I || tried equipping anti-dark equipments, but that didn't help, so mass || healing is the only option you have against the said move. || || Avoid charging forward at the beginning of this fight. Let the enemies || come for you and hit them with multi-targeting ranged attacks when they || are in range. Black Magics work well against the melee units. Take Ewen || out first, then the Spellblade. The Seer is adept to level 2 black || magicks. You can try using debuffs on the enemy units if you like. I || didn't get the chance to experiment with what works best. || || The Illusionist uses Tempest, and the Elementalist usually uses Boulder || Crush and Fire Whip. Illua is immune to magicks. Use normal attacks on || her instead. Be sure to hit from the back as much as possible. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------o| || Round 2 for this mission will begin after some dialogue. You won't get || a chance to save your game either. Your target this time is the large || hand thingie at the top of the are. Neukhia halves damage from all || elements, except Holy. So deploy some Paladins if you have them. You'll || also get your judge back. Pick regen as your clan privilege. || || There will be some extra monsters too, and they just keep coming after || you kill the ones that are onscreen. What I've seen so far are Plagues, || Behemoths, and Sprites. The Sprites can cast Haste on Neukhia. So || hopefully, you have someone who can use Dispel. || || The mark itself uses Apocalypse, which inflicts Confuse on all your || units that are within range. It also has Catastrophe which causes || both defense down and resistance down on everyone. Consumption deals || massive damage on everyone, including the extra monsters. || || You can try charging the purple cannons in the area up to 100%. Doing so || will damage all enemies. But honestly, you should just use your turns to || get close to Neukhia and use melee attacks on it; or even holy-based || abilities if you can use them. Overall, this battle won't be so tough if || you have several units that can use curative magicks. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oAt the area map, go to the only place available for some more story events.When you regain control once again, head to any town, preferably Moorabellathen fly to Fluorgis. The Chocobos use Choco Flame, Choco Cure || and Choco Barrier (Protect + Shell). Inflict Disable or Immobilize on || the birds to prevent them from using their buff abilities. || || You don't have to move all that much, since the enemies come for you. || Ignore the law and have your best magicians throw fire spells at the || bunnies. Cast Dispel to remove buffs from enemies. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oWell you know the drill by now. Return to Goug for some story events, whicheventually leads to Adelle leaving your clan temporarily. The Zahgnal's Assault causes Immobilize. || || It's really up to you if you want to defeat the extra enemies, or go || directly for Adelle. She has a move called Lenart, which hits all units || in a straight line directly in front of her. || || Just hit her with your strongest attacks, as long as it's not holy-based || If you have a Defender, move in from behind and hit Adelle with Mow || Down. That move will take as much as 150 HP away if done from behind. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oOnce again, return to the closest town for yet another set of story events.Adelle will rejoin your clan too. Do some sidequests if you want, shopfor equipments, join auctions, then accept next mission.o---------------------------o| Obtaining the Heritor Job |o---------------------------o----------------------------------------------o| || After completing story mission 18, head over to the Aldanna Range, and || there should be a red ! on Lezaford's Cottage. Go in there for a bit of || dialogue where the wizard tells Adelle to seek out Lennart. || || Next, proceed to the Zedlei Forest to find another red !. Go there for || another brief dialogue, then Adelle gets to fight Lennart alone. So make || sure you give Adelle your best equipments before coming here. "Penelo" didn't get to act at all in my game || but I'm betting on the fact that she has the same move set as the real || Penelo does. || || Try to Blind or Disable the ranged units, then Disable or Immobilize the || melee ones. If you have units that have Hastega and Protect, then by all || means use them! "Penelo" is highly vulnerable to the Disable status, so || inflict that on her as soon as possible. || || Send a balanced army of melee and ranged units. And have the former || provide indirect combat support, while the latter move in for a direct || assault. Do make sure that your melee units have good defense. If you || happen to get lazy just focus all your attacks on "Vaan". The mission || ends when he has been dealt with. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oRight... I'm gonna say this one more time... Go back to any town for somestory events. That said, do the usual and once you've done enough. Go outthere and recruit Vaan and Penelo into Clan Gully!o------------------------------o| In Search of Vaan and Penelo |o------------------------------o-------------------------------------------o| || After completing mission 19 (Pirate Problems), head to Fluorgis, and you || should see a red exclamation point at the Aerodrome. Go in there. || || < Elegant Encounter > || || Luso and Adelle will run into Al-Cid Margrace. He will have a letter he || wants to be given to Vaan. Penelo will come in and she'll join your clan || after a short exchange. Head out to the next destination afterwards. || || < Where Could He Be? > || || You'll be facing a Worgen, Wolf, a Beastmaster, and a Gladiator. This || mission should be real easy compared to the other recent quests you've || done. Blind and Disable both the Beastmaster and the Gladiator. The || Worgen's Fiery Blow can cause Silence sometimes. || || Vaan will join your clan after a bit of dialogue. Back in the area map, || notice that there's one more quest left. Clear that one too. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oFor the last time, do some more quest when you return to town. Master theabilities that you feel are most important. If possible, have more than oneunit learn Hastega, Shell, and Protect. Toughen up your chosen battle || party, meaning buy the best possible armors you can find at the Bazaar. || Both resistance and defense matter, so make sure your equipments provide || balanced stats boost as much as possible. Actually, if you did the quest || "I've Been Had, Kupo!", you'll get a card from Ezel that will keep your || judge from being barred from battle in this mission. || || Cast Hastega, Protect, and Shell on all your units as soon as you gain || enough MP. Recast when they wear off. Illua's army consists of a Red || Mage, Summoner, Time Mage, Arcanist, and a Nightshade (herself). || || Illua uses Saber (Atk and Acc Up), Annul, Abyssal Slash, Time Blade, and || the deadliest of all, Dimensional Rift. There isn't much you can do to || counter this except lessen damage through buffs, and some mass healing. || || The Time Mage casts Hastega and Stop; Summoner can summon Shiva and || Unicorn; Arcanist has Syphon; and the Red Mage has Doublecast. Get rid || of the Summoner as soon as you can, then take out the Time Mage. Illua || can't protect herself much, so she will be a whole lot more manageable || if you kill her most important support crew first. || |o--------------------------------------------------------------------------oAfter the battle, you will be taken back to the area map. You can leave thisplace and return to town by heading to the area with a crystal on it (Danceof the Candleflies). The Behemoths || can use Firaga and their attacks can deal pretty serious damage. They || also have Magick Counter. The Loup-Garou has Howl (Confuse) and Slug. || || You may want to forgo the law here and cast both Protect and Hastega on || your party. Hopefully, you managed to pick up some great armors at the || shop, since the attacks from these monsters can really hurt you. Deploy || units that can use Curaga, Esuna, or just a Summoner with Unicorn. Keep || using Blizzard on the Behemoths to get rid of them. This should not be || that difficult as long as your healers are always on hand for healing. || || Illua won't move until you get closer to her. So take the time to heal
