ANSWER THE QUESTIONSIndividual work

1. Be honest with yourself to really get a meaningful result.

2. Put your answers in writing. It has three main advantages:

First: Writing down your thoughts structures & orders them. It makes it easier to see the whole picture.

Second: Writing down is like a meditation - it helps you distance from your challenge and look at it more objectively.

Third: Your brain has operational capacity - everything you keep in it takes out of it. When you write things down, you increase its operational capacity to solve problems and generate ideas.

ANSWER THE QUESTIONSWith a partner (you are the partner)1. Create a safe space: do not judge and promote honesty

2. Listen carefully, talk less (70% listening/30% talking)

3. Ask additional questions (agree on that in advance). Make sure they all start with: What? Who? When? How? Where? Which? Avoid the question Why? - it creates a sense of guilt.

4. Be careful not to lead to the answer you think is right. It is about the other person. Each person is different - you are the tool, the mirror that will help the other to find what is best for them (not for you).

5. Do not forget to have fun!

ANSWER THE QUESTIONSIn a team / group of interests

1. Preselect 3-5 topics that relate the most to the needs of the group at the moment.

2. Let the group vote on each topics & pick the one with the most votes.

3. Your are the moderator - start asking the questions on the card one by one. You need to take care that people listen to one another, that they do not get into a conflict and time is spent equally on each person.

4. Each member of the team/group answers each question. The rule is that they are not allowed to use already given answer or idea. They need to think of a new answer or a new idea.

5. As a moderator you can support the group by asking additional questions. But only open questions. Pay attention to not lead them towards what you think is right.

6. Enjoy the process of co-creation!

TRANSFORMATION IS A PROCESS, NOT A ONE TIME ACTION.

EACH TRANSFORMIKA CARD IS LIKE A FUNEL

ACTIONABLE RESULT

INFORMATION | OPINIONS | EXPECTATIONS | FEARS | IDEAS | OPPORTUNITIES | LIMITATIONS

STEP 1: Explore the problem, idea, challenge and the reality

STEP 2: Generate as many options (way forward) as possible

STEP 3: Choose the first step and commit to it

Page 18: GUIDE FOR GOOD PRACTICE IMPLEMENTATION€¦ · brainstorming, an engineer had the idea to remove the speakers as they used the most power and were the heaviest. It may have sounded

STEP 1 - EXPLORATION

It includes the main question and the subsequent mostly four questions on each TR card.

These questions aim to explore the topic, the problem or the challenge.

The first step takes care of exploring what you have done or have not done so far and what is happening or not in your life.

Only when you know in detail what you are dealing with, you will be able to move forward towards solving or achieving what you want.

Page 19: GUIDE FOR GOOD PRACTICE IMPLEMENTATION€¦ · brainstorming, an engineer had the idea to remove the speakers as they used the most power and were the heaviest. It may have sounded

STEP 2 - IDEA GENERATION

This is the part of generating ideas for ways that can move you forward towards the desired direction (most often question 5 on each TR card).

This is where you are supposed to generate as many as possible ideas. Bear in mind - not each idea means a solution, neither it means that you need to implement all ideas.

The more ideas you generate - the bigger the chance you will go beyond the standard ideas and come up with something innovative that can spark a new for you solution.

Page 20: GUIDE FOR GOOD PRACTICE IMPLEMENTATION€¦ · brainstorming, an engineer had the idea to remove the speakers as they used the most power and were the heaviest. It may have sounded

STEP 2 - IDEA GENERATION(Rules for brainstorming)

DO NOT judge or censor your ideas while generating them - simply write them down. Perhaps the most foolish idea is to become the trigger for a new unexpected solution.

In the 1980s, Sony focused on how to improve their massive cassette recorders, which used many batteries and were very heavy to carry around. During brainstorming, an engineer had the idea to remove the speakers as they used the most power and were the heaviest. It may have sounded foolish, but it was this idea that sparked the invention of Walkman, which for decades was a market leader.

When generating ideas, there must be a time limit (for example, 20 ideas in 5 minutes). The brain functions much better when it is restricted.

Generate ideas, standing up - this also stimulates creativity.

Page 21: GUIDE FOR GOOD PRACTICE IMPLEMENTATION€¦ · brainstorming, an engineer had the idea to remove the speakers as they used the most power and were the heaviest. It may have sounded

STEP 2 - IDEA GENERATION(Using the JOKER cards)

Sometimes, it happens that your mind just blocks and you cannot generate ideas no matter how hard you try. Then the Joker Cards come to help by enhancing your creativity. They put your imagination under a certain condition that helps it to come up with new, unexpected ideas.

Take one or both Joker Cards and start answering the questions on them to generate different ideas. The questions on the Joker Cards can be answered in succession; you can choose which questions to answer; you can decide to answer only 5 questions, 10 questions or all of them. What is important is that you are satisfied with the number of ideas you have generated (not he quality).

Again, do not forget that you want to generate as many as possible ideas to choose from, to test and to trigger a potential new solution.

STEP 3 - WAY FORWARD

This is the most practical and action-oriented part. When you have generated enough ideas, with this last step (most often questions six to ten on each TR card), you will have to make a choice. You always need to choose just one option.

The choice you can make based on what you can implement the fastest, what will be the easiest to do, or just choose the one option that you like the most.

The last step of each TR card is dedicated to discovering and committing to the very first step you will take in the desired direction.
