1 . EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Credit: 2015 Canada Winter Games INVESTMENT.REVIEW.REPORT.TWO.| 1
The investment review was initiated by ViaSport with the purpose of achieving a funding framework that is efficient, transparent, and streamlined for organizations funded within the British Columbia (BC) sport sector . The intent of the investment review is to reward and recognize the impact that organizations have while also providing resources, tools, and development opportunities .
THIS REPORT, GUIDE TO THE EVALUATION MATRIX, HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO SUPPORT PROVINCIAL SPORT ORGANIZATIONS (PSO) AND DISABILITY SPORT ORGANIZATIONS (DSO) PREPARE FOR THE EVALUATIONS TO COME IN THE FALL OF 2015. THE GOAL OF THIS REPORT IS TO HELP ORGANIZATIONS UNDERSTAND HOW THEY WILL BE ASSESSED, AND INCLUDES THE QUESTIONS ASKED OF ALL ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN THE PROCESS OF EVALUATION. IT IS VIASPORT’S OBJECTIVE TO HELP BUILD, DEVELOP, AND ADVANCE A SPORT SECTOR THAT IS HIGHLY PROFICIENT IN CORE FUNCTIONAL AREAS. BY ESTABLISHING A BASELINE FOR SERVICES AND PROGRAMMING, AND CHARTING A COURSE FOR PROGRESS, BC’S SPORT SECTOR WILL BE BETTER PREPARED TO SERVE BRITISH COLUMBIANS FOR YEARS TO COME.
Ultimately, this investment review process will reveal a simplified and unified system that aligns with the strategic objectives and priorities of the province . ViaSport is committed to working collaboratively with sport organizations, coaching them through the investment review process, and crossing the finish line together by 2017-18 .

APPENDIX B: DSO CLASSIFICATION
Disability sport organizations in British Columbia are an extremely diverse group that serve a
multitude of sports and reach a broad cross-section of the population. Because of the unique
nature of parasport/adaptive sports, base funding for DSOs is determined using several
discretionary factors, including:
. •. Membership.size
. •. Competitive.status.(present.in.major.events.such.as.the.Paralympic.Games,..
. Parapan.American.Games,.Commonwealth.Games,.or.Canada.Games)
. •. Cost.to.participate
