Although it is impossible to specifi cally determine the return on an artwork, past investments have demonstrated that there are consistent ROIs on artwork, especially when working with an art investment fund specialists. Philip Hoffman, chief executive of London’s Fine Art Fund Group stated that “we generally look for annual net returns of 7% to 12% for our investors…I can confi rm as an example that a Frank Auerbach painting we purchased in 2005 for $1.1 million sold in 2006 for $2.3 million.”

In a survey of over 800 employees at 32 different companies, 94% of employees found that artwork enhanced the work environment. Additionally, 82% agreed that artwork is an important element of the workplace, and 72% of those surveyed desired to have more art in the workplace.

Intrinsic Return on Investment

15% Faster
Research has demonstrated a direct link between the working environment and employee satisfaction, productivity, and well-being. One study analyzed the effects of the offi ce environment on staff productivity by placing two groups of employees with an hour’s worth of administrative tasks, one in an offi ce with art and plants and the other in an environment without any additional decoration. The results revealed that employees in the offi ce with art work 15% faster than those in the offi ce without any decoration.

Edgy, urban artwork is displayed throughout the facility, incorporating bicycles, bright colors and conversation pieces in both public and private spaces.
