Welcome to the Guided System Selling Overview Presentation. This
deck will provide you with an overview of the Guided System Selling
(GSS) solution configuration tool.

Guided System Selling (GSS) is a CCW-integrated configuration tool that helps internal and external users configure complex Cisco solutions based on customer requirements. GSS uses a guided Q&A workflow to:
1. Generate a BoM 2. Add services and subscriptions with a single click 3. Convert the BoM into a configset 4. Import the configset into Quote or Order within CCW

To begin a solution configuration,
you have two options:

select the desired
technology. For the
purpose of this overview
presentation, we will use
BE3000 as the example
solution.
1) Select from one of your
previously saved configurations.
You can search by solution name
or solution ID. As a new user, this
section will be empty. Every
solution you create will be added
to the Saved Solutions section

Next you will be taken to
the Site Structure page,
where you can configure
your install site information.
Click to change
the solution
name.
With the solution ID, a
Cisco employee can
search and view any
solution shared with them
by a partner.

GSS Navigation
On all GSS pages, the
Solution Navigation Pane
is visible. This is used to
monitor the progress and
status of the solution, as
well as navigate amongst
the pages, as you
complete your BOM.
Status icons display as you navigate through the
pages to let you know if
• requirements on the page have been satisfied
• items still require your attention
• you’ve encountered a problem.
No icons represent a page that you’ve not yet visited.
As an alternative
navigation method, use
the “Back/Next” buttons
to flow from one page to
the next.

GSS Site Structure Page
As you update your main site
details and add information
related to satellite locations,
GSS will generate questions
as a result of answers you’ve
previously provided.
Checking the Branch box
will allow you to enter the
number of Branches in
your site structure.
Checking the Branch box
will allow you to enter or
change the number of
Branches in your site
structure.
Click “Add
Location” to change
the address.
Click “edit” to
change the site
name.
The “Copy” option allows
you to copy a site, while
the “Clear” option allows
you to clear the information
within the site.

GSS Site Details Page
When you enter information
onto the Site Details page, it
is strongly advisable to enter
complete address
information (if available),
especially if you intend to
add services to your
solution. Entering a postal
code will ensure accurate
service availability and
service pricing.

The auto-save functionality in GSS
saves your changes as you navigate
from one page to the next.

The Quick Preview and
BOM Summary buttons can
be selected at any time
during the configuration
process.
Alternatively, when all your
page updates are
complete, click “Next” to
arrive at the BoM Summary
page at the end of the
workflow.
In a multi-site deployment, the
site total (in blue) is called out
separately from the solution
total (in black). The price
information is based on the
currency you’ve chosen in
your preferences.

GSS Quick Preview
“Quick Preview” allows you
to quickly examine your
BoM in a read-only format.
Quick Preview displays the
intended use, the billing
address, the selected price
list, and a clear breakdown of
sites and products that are
mapped to each site. You
may expand all the line items
to display both the major and
the minor lines.

GSS BOM Summary Page
The BoM Summary allows you to
view your BoM. It is the final output
before conversion to a Configset.
Clicking this button will
invoke backend
validations. As such,
loading time for this page
will be longer.
In the Solution
Preferences section, you
can update your Intended
Use, Price List, and Billing
Address.

GSS BOM Summary Page
GSS attaches mandatory services
where applicable. Users can add
optional services to their BoM.
GSS also attaches mandatory and
non-mandatory subscriptions to
your BoM. Users can remove the
non-mandatory subscriptions.
You have the option to
add or remove these
lines with one click.

GSS BOM Summary
Once the BoM is
complete, select
“Convert to Configset”
to be redirected to CCW
Config.
Click to return to
the solution to
make changes.
When you make an
adjustment to your services
and subscriptions, the list
price updates to reflect the
changes to the lines in your
BOM.
Click to generate
a configset in
CCW. Click to export the
BoM as an Excel or
XML output. This
output can then be
uploaded CCW or
another quoting tool.

CCW Config
You’re now on the “Items Tab”
in CCW Config. You have a
Configset that you can import
into a Quote or an Order.
Only CCW items will be
included within the Configset.
You do have the option to
make line level adjustments in
the Configset. Any changes
you make here do not flow
back to GSS.
From here, the normal CCW
workflow applies.
Click this link to navigate back to
GSS. Upon return to GSS, you’ll
be taken to the BoM Summary
page. You will have the choice to
either make a copy or to overwrite
the solution.
The CCW Configset may
display additional
guidance related to items
nearing end of sale or that
have a time-limited
product hold.
