MA THEM A TICA Our interesting and varied client assignments provide the members of our staff with many rewarding challenges. Here is an example:

Regional Education Information System

MATHEMATICA is developing a regional education information system. Individual profiles of over 250 Appalachian institutions of higher education are being prepared. These pro- files, which will be used for projections, include such bosic data as student and faculty costs, facilities and federal aid. The present and future impact of federal aid upon these institutions will be determined by an indepth study of a sample of 30 schools. This infor- mation will be used to develop recommendations for a federal aid program which will help maintain or improve services in Appalachian schools.

Do prolects like this-that require advances in the state of the art -interest you? If so, write or telephone Dr. Tibor Fabian, President.

CAN YOU HEAR THIS MAN?

His voice is a whisper. And in our world his whisper often is drowned by the noise the rest of us make. You have to listen hard. We do.

RAC's growing concern for man and his needs is directed toward problems of urban affairs, health services, and public safety. RAC has 22 years of experience in a wide-ranging work program of operations research and systems analysis for public interest studies.

If you have a special flair for finding practical solutions to some of the vital problems of our society, you'll like the creative and challenging research atmosphere at RAC. If you are concerned with improving our so- cial environment, if you want professional growth and a chance to make a substantive contribution to science and to man, tell us about it. We'll listen.
