You Are MTI Strong
Dear MTI Members.
2016 has kicked off in high gear, and I am excited to invite you to MTI’s Spring Meeting, which will take place April 28-30 at the South Seas Resort in Captiva Island, Florida.
Here at MTI, we pride ourselves on being able to offer our members invaluable resources, information and programs. To me, though, the most beneficial opportunity MTI provides is the chance to connect with other like-minded professionals and openly discuss the challenges and opportunities we experience in the industry.
The Spring Meeting will focus on providing you with the opportunity to refresh, renew and re-energize your perspective on the performance of your company and the industry as a whole. It will also feature sessions that cover effective marketing and sales tactics, how to forecast sales for the next three years and best practices for hiring.
We have found from experience that two key components that significantly contribute to a company’s growth are sales and marketing. As such, it is important to implement the right strategies for attracting your desired customer base. Over the course of two days, you will hear practical solutions on a number of topics, including:

Content is non-traditional, contrary and designed to be a wake up call for all organizations on selling, strategizing and positioning their companies to meet the harsh realities of the economy and the challenging economic climate of today’s marketplace. Rick will show you the keys to effective selling, and the value your company brings to your customers to ultimately increase growth in your annual revenues.

Session 3: Featured Keynote: If You See It, You Can Be It! - Chef Jeff Henderson
Award-winning Chef and Author of the New York Times best-seller “Cooked”, Chef Jeff Henderson discovered his passion and gift for cooking in a most unlikely place: behind bars. Today, the creator of the Food Network’s docu-reality series “The Chef Jeff Project” and the host of “Family Style” with Chef Jeff, is one of the most influential African-American chefs in the country, using his redemptive journey from drug dealer to TV celebrity Chef, to nationally acclaimed motivational speaker to help others reboot their own dreams and gain a new foothold on the ladder to success. His acclaimed memoir, “Cooked: My Journey from the Streets to the Stove”, is being adapted into a film, starring Will Smith. His most recent book, “If You Can See It, You Can Be It”, teaches his 12 street-smart recipes for success. Chef Jeff says, “I was an HR nightmare.” But he knew the lessons he learned on the streets taught him transferable skills that would adapt to the corporate world: marketing, branding, public relations and managing a diverse workforce. He now educates audiences on how to embrace workers from all backgrounds so companies won’t merely survive in today’s economy, but they will thrive.

This keeps members from needing to carry large amounts of cash for beverages. Your booklet of blue drink tickets is coded with a number linked to your company for tracking. Within 30 days of the meeting, MTI will send you an invoice for your beverages consumed during the meeting. Treat these tickets as cash - you will only be billed for the number of tickets collected by the bartenders at the functions. These tickets are only accepted at official MTI functions and are not valid at any other hotel bars.
