ABOUT GGSIP UNIVERSITYGuru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University was the first university to be established by the Government of NCT of Delhi in 1988, with the aim of facilitating and promoting studies, research and development work in emerging areas of higher education with a special focus on professional education.

The university strives to provide a market oriented professional education with a view to meet the needs of the Indian industries and the rapidly changing global environment.

ABOUT USLLSEstablished in 2001, University School of Law and Legal Studies (USLLS) has acquired the status of a distinct institution of legal education in an unparallel setting of multidisciplinary environment. It has emerged as a premier hub of legal education in India. It is the best college for law under GGSIP University. Also, the CET cut-off rank of USLLS (237) outperforms Amity Law School (1386) and VIPS (2000).

The course structure is contemporary and practice oriented with a special focus on legal ethics which attracts students from all over India and overseas. The law school, with a well-experienced and sincere regular faculty, conduct all the courses with professionalism and due value orientation.

Lately, USLLS has been ranked 10th all over India and 2nd in Delhi by India Today Survey of 2016, reporting it as one of the leading colleges in its list of ‘Top 25 Law Schools in India 2016’.

From the Dean’s Desk Aristotle once said- “Law is reason, free from Passion.” However, in my own experience as an academician, I believe that passion is integral to the study of law. With this in mind, USLLS has produced students who are not only well endowed with the requirements of the legal field, but who also are free thinking, high spirited and passionate about the profession as a whole. The college, established in 2001, has molded well honed professionals, who are established in their respective legal fields ranging from the corporate sector to litigation and dispute resolution, as well as having a prominent presence in the judiciary and academia.

It has been a pleasure to be a part of the journey of the batch of 2013-18. The students of this batch have made the college proud on several occasions, and are sure to be an asset to any organization that they join in the future. Over the course of the 5 years of their study, the batch has actively participated and won laurels in several Moot Court Competitions and Debates. The batch has been part of various different college activities and events. Many of the research papers written by them have been published in reputed journals from across the country. Their work with the legal aid center and their ongoing association with the Delhi Legal Service Authority has instilled in them fine values.

I would like to invite you to come and allow these students to become a part of the journey of your respective organization. As graduates of this institution, the students will prove to be highly competent professionals with sound legal knowledge.

Prof. Kanwal D.P. SinghDean

From the Placement Desk...It is my pleasure to introduce to you the batch of 2013-2018. The brochure provides a kaleidoscope of their multi-faceted talents and interests. A vibrant campus life with multiple disciplines has given them opportunities to develop themselves not merely as legal professionals, but as well-rounded individuals. Their curricular and extra-curricular activities complement each other. Theatre, music, dance, literature, quiz, parliamentary debates, constitutional club, fine arts, environment and science club, film club, gender club – all such activities make law students explore their creative side with gusto. An active moot court society in the law school is an extremely competitive arena, where students work to improve their mooting and lawyering skills.

The batch has been focused, developing a career profile that will enable them to go for their chosen career path. They have presented research papers at regular intervals and have organized many national, state and international events for the law school and the university.

Law students have been the most active participants in the various activities of the university life, but they never lose sight of their career goals, taking additional certificate courses to upgrade their legal knowledge. Some have excellent corporate law profiles, doing internships with the leading law firms in India. Those who wish to pursue litigation as their career choice have undertaken apprenticeship under reputed litigation lawyers and judges. Some with social awareness about the challenges in front of their society have worked with human rights organizations, legal service authorities and women commissions. Our biggest asset is a strong alumni base in the various areas of law and the placement and internship cell of the school has been reaching out to them, receiving a positive and enthusiastic response from the pass out batches. This connection with the alumni is a lifeline of our students, simultaneously encouraging and motivating them.

A committed team of students takes care of the placement and internship cell under the faculty, working round the clock to ensure that the students get maximum opportunities and exposure with the best and also the upcoming and promising legal firms. They are also constantly on the lookout for new opportunities, exploring new areas of law and legal internships and placements.
