I'll clean, my shoes every day. St. Valentines day On the 14th of February there is St. Valentines Day. People send Valentines cards to someone they love. Usually they dont sing them you must guess who sent cards to you. On this day, people send Valentine cards to their husbands, wives, girlfriends and boyfriends. You can also send a card to a person you do not know. Easter In April or at the end of March English people celebrate Easter Day. On Easter Sunday children get chocolate eggs and rabbits. Many modern Easter symbols come from ancient time. The egg was a symbol long before the Christian era. The Easter bunny is also originated in pre-Christian time. Halloween On the 31st of October there is Haloween. The symbol of this holiday is "Jack o'lantern". People make it from a pumpkin. "Jack o'lantern" Children like Haloween parties, they put on witchs and ghosts dresses. They go trick or treat. GUY FAWKES NIGHT NOVEMBER 5 That day in 1605 some conspirators wanted to blow up the House of Parliament and kill King James I. Guy Fawkes was one of them. The Kings men caught Guy and killed him. Not many people think about those events now but they enjoy celebrating the day with their friends making big bonfires and watching beautiful fireworks. This holiday commemorates the discovery of the so-called Gunpowder Plot and is celebrated throughout the country.
