The CMS is a workstation to be used by an individual to control up to 600 channels while the VMS comes with enterprise- and multi-site designs to attend 8,000 channels. GVD CMS & VMS PlatformsTotal solution that solves multiple problemsGVD CMS ("Central Management System") and VMS (“Video Management System”) are both GVD's centralized video platforms to safeguard a project covering multiple NVRs. The CMS is a workstation to be used by an individual to control up to 600 channels while the VMS comes with enterprise- and multi-site designs to attend 8,000 channels.

Hardware-wise the CMS covers multiple NVRs and a workstation PC while the VMS is a stack of highly robust hardware that includes, but not limited to, a larger group of NVRs, a management console, and a directory server.

Software-wise both platforms base on GVD self-developed management software. Clients are available on web-browsers and portable devices including iOS and Android devices. By these clients, users can conduct some of the basic video surveillance such as video live-view or PTZ when they are on the go.

Both platforms are meant to process large video with high throughput and fault-tolerance, and both platforms can be easily scaled up and down through flexible add-ons or removal of GVD products.

Both platforms feature videowalls. The VMS allows 40 screens for a huge videowall with a multitude of synchronous live videos while CMS supports up to 80 live videos on two screens. In spite of massive video traffic, these platforms needn't compromise with video quality since they use a variety of techniques to optimize live video streams.

A control center solution is available with the VMS. Each NVR can stay in close contact with the control center hundreds of miles away through a network. Security operators settle at the control center, where they can be instantly alerted of any suspicious event, and they retrieve a critical video from an NVR in question without leaving the control center.

for VMS & CMS PlatformsThe CMS platform is powered by HD CMS, a collection of software programs to manage your squad of NVRs. All software programs come with friendly GUI to let you jump seamlessly from the localhost to a remote channel, or from this function to another. Four modes are featured to handle each function of the system: The Display Mode, Configuration Mode, Alarm Mode and Event Mode.

Management Software

- E90, E150, E300 & D300

The VMS platform is powered by GVD VMS Manager. As the almighty brain of the platform, the VMS Manager features a variety of setting pages and operating pages to handle every function of the system. For GUI, the software adopts a plenty of enlarged graphics to present a modern look for better user experience.

Software Features

Pattern Display & Speed ControlHD CMS plays video with a collection of “patterns.” A “pattern” is an onscreen grid with each division in it outputting an individual video, whether live or recorded. A pattern can also show an HTML-based graphic file such as a road map or a floor plan. Four video playing speeds are available with each pattern to overcome the problems of limited network bandwidth and the lack of CPU resource when a lot of videos are playing.

HTML-based MapExcept for outputting video, a viewer also loads a road map or a floor plan for you. A unique Map Editor is featured to let you produce a "composite" map, on which a variety of linked graphics are embedded so they can bring you to a video or an associated file when you click them. When your project has a large group of channels and devices, a composite map can help you spot a channel and access video quickly. Further combining the “Tour” feature, a composite map will keep you from missing critical images.

Alarm ManagementAmong the powerful alarm features of the software, the Rule Wizard allows you to define when and how to trigger an alarm. Users can define a critical hardware state such as CPU overheat or a channel state such as video loss to launch an alarm. Users can also define which way to launch an alarm, whether by an onscreen popup message or a text message by email or TCP.

When an alarm is launched in an NVR, the control center hundreds of miles away will see an alarm screen on the control workstation (GVD E150). The alarm screen is displayed with a brief description and some relevant snapshots to convey the clearest message of an incident.

Video Content Analysis & SearchGVD NVR features sophisticated Video Content Analysis, including VMD (Video Motion Detection) that detects moving objects, E-Fence that identifies objects crossing a virtual line in one direction and the opposite while People Counting detects and adds up how many objects have crossed a virtual line in one direction and the opposite. Users can set up an interested VCA event for alarms and retrieve a particular VCA event by the powerful search feature.

Software Features

In order to tackle large-scale video manage-ment, the VMS Manager is designed to extend its UI onto a secondary monitor so users can conduct more tasks of video management, whether video display or a certain setting. Once extended display is enabled, users can freely pin

a task onto the extended display. Users can also pin the task back onto the main display anytime he/she wants. The software also allows users to save the task pinning to save time when the next time the software is used again.

Dual-monitor Management

The VMS Manager comes with a unique “Tag Management” to let you efficiently spot one particular channel among a large group of them. The Tag Management relies on a virtual label attached to a channel so it can be quickly screened from a big group of channels online.

Videowall ManagementThe VMS Manager features Videowall Management, a powerful tool to manipulate videowalls. The user interface shows each videowall as a "tile", which is an ordinary rectangle shape onscreen. Each tile displays the current pattern when you click it. A tile also shows some text information about the videowall

it represents such as the IP address. All tiles can be freely relocated onscreen to reflect the real-world locations of the videowalls. Users can quickly identify which videowall to manage by the IP address or by the position shown.

Map ManagementThe VMS Manager supports Google Maps to truly mitigate the complexity of large-scale IP video surveillance across broad lands such as a city. A powerful Map Editor is featured to let you load a map with various graphic links that bring you to a video, a

networked NVR, or an associated file such as a relevant road map or route.

Two “tiles” arranged so onscreen to reflect their real locations.

Device Management

The VMS Manager features a Device page to show how many devices are there in the system and how these devices are working at the moment. The information is encapsulated in an overview of devices very efficiently even if the system has a

gigantic arsenal of IP cameras and NVRs. 11 types of devices are supported on the overview including camera channels, NVRs, DIO modules, doors, videowall monitors, directory servers, failover servers, backup servers, station servers, etc.
