Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 9 am mass : And also with you. 11 am mass: And with thy spirit.

No. 686, Come, thou fount of every blessing Nettleton

(9 am mass)Blessed be God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And blessed be his kingdom, now and for ever. Amen. There is one Body and one Spirit; There is one hope in God's call to us; One Lord, one Faith, one Baptism; One God and Father of all.

(11 am mass) In voluntate tua. O Lord, the whole world is in thy power, and there is no man that can gain-say thee: for thou hast made heaven and earth, and all the wondrous things under the heaven: thou art Lord of all things. Ps. 119. Blessed are those that are undefiled in the way: and walk in the law of the Lord. Glory be…

Genesis 32:22-31 The same night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two maids, and his eleven children, and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. He took them and sent them across the stream, and likewise everything that he had. Jacob was left alone; and a man wrestled with him until daybreak. When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he struck him on the hip socket; and Jacob's hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him. Then he said, "Let me go, for the day is breaking." But Jacob said, "I will not let you go, unless you bless me." So he said to him, "What is your name?" And he said, "Jacob." Then the man said, "You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with humans, and have prevailed." Then Jacob asked him, "Please tell me your name." But he said, "Why is it that you ask my name?" And there he blessed him. So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, "For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life is preserved." The sun rose upon him as he passed Penuel, limping because of his hip.

Psalm 121 Sung by the choir. Walford - Davies 1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills: from whence cometh my help. 2. My help cometh even from the Lord: who hath made heaven and earth. 3. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: and he that keepeth thee will not sleep. 4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel: shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5. The Lord himself is thy keeper: the Lord is thy defence upon thy right hand; 6. So that the sun shall not burn thee by day: neither the moon by night.

7. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: yea, it is even he that shall keep thy soul. 8. The Lord shall preserve thy going out, and thy coming in: from this time forth for evermore.

2 Timothy 3:14-4:5 As for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it, and how from childhood you have known the sacred writ-ings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I solemnly urge you: proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching. For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teach-ers to suit their own desires, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander away to myths. As for you, always be sober, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your ministry fully.

No. 440, Blessed Jesus, at thy word Liebster Jesu

The commandments of the Lord are sure. They stand fast forever.

Luke 18:1-8 Jesus told his disciples a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart. He said, "In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people. In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, `Grant me justice against my opponent.' For a while he refused; but later he said to himself, `Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, yet be-cause this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not wear me out by continually coming.'" And the Lord said, "Listen to what the un-just judge says. And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them? I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

(9 am mass) No. 296, We know that Christ is raised and dies no more Engelberg

(9 am mass)The celebrant calls for the presentation of the baptismal candidate. He asks questions of the spon-sors of the baptismal candidate. You may follow along in The Book of Common Prayer on page 301.

(9 am mass) Do you believe in God the Father? I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. Do you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God?

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Do you believe in God the Holy Spirit? I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Will you continue in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers? I will, with God’s help. Will you persevere in resisting evil, and, whenever you fall into sin, repent and return to the Lord? I will, with God’s help. Will you proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ? I will, with God’s help. Will you seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself? I will, with God’s help. Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being? I will, with God’s help.

The celebrant calls on the assembled to pray for the baptismal candidate as the altar party processes to the baptismal font. After each petition the people respond: Lord, hear our prayer.

(9 am mass)The Lord be with you. And also with you. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give him thanks and praise.

The celebrant prays over the water, invoking the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. You may follow in The Book of Common Prayer on page 306.

After giving thanks over the water, the celebrant pours water on the head of the candidate three times baptizing the child in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He anoints the child with chrism. Afterwards, the celebrant says “Let us welcome the newly baptized.” The people respond: We receive you into the household of God. Confess the faith of Christ crucified, proclaim his resurrection, and share with us in his eternal priesthood.

The work and mission of St. Timothy’s is supported by the generous and sacrificial giving of members, friends, and visitors. In addition to the offering plates, a secure giving kiosk (debit cards only) is available in the narthex.

(11 am mass)

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job: perfect and upright, and one that feared God. And Satan sought to tempt him: and power was giv-en him by the Lord over his possessions, and over his flesh. And he destoy’d all his substance and his sons: and he smote his flesh with sore boils.
