DESCRIBE THE PRESENT AND ORIGINAL (IF KNOWN) PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
This stuccoed stone and frame dv:elling faces west toward the Jerusalem Mill and appears to represent three differerrd building periods. It is two an.d one half stories high, having four gable front dormers of six over six lights on each side of the gable flank, slate covered roof. ~ree chimneys are present: one at each inside end and one near the center of the roof ridge line.
The ::min unit of the dwelling is five bays long with its principal entrance in the center bay of the west facade. ~his has a wide, moulded pa.~el door with a two light transom overhe'3.d. ';.'indows on the first elevation are nine lights over six; on the second elevation, six lights over six. ;~ll have louvered shutters. ~he windm-v in the r:.orthern most b'3.y of this section has been altered.
The interior of this section is le.id out in a cb.ssic center through hall floor plan. ~ne stair W'3.Y is in the south east corner and has a turned newel and handrail, pine treads. Scroll brackets trim the string. ~ plain fireplace is in the center of the south wall of the south roo~. In the north room there is also a fireplace. 3eaded wainscoting is present in ttis room. A cut out area in the floor and ceiling appears to ta·:e been a circular stairway.
There is a crawl space u..~der the south room and a normal cellar under the entrance hall and the north room. A large stone arch forms a fireplace support. ':'!lis is approximately 4 1 10'' high and 5 feet deep. _::,. small stone walled roo~ is in the center of this area.
Section two, the room located north of the main section, is two stories high and one bay wide. This seems to ~ave been a kitchen at one time. A large brick fireplace is in the center of the north wall this has a very plain wood mantle. _;,,.~ iron crane is in the fireplace. ~ere is no cellar un.der this section. ':Jindo;.;s in tr.is section extend above the plastered ceiling. '.::'he :;-laster is rounded at the '...;indo·w frame.
A two story fra~e addition is located on this house's east side. Its first elevation is a screened in porch while its second elevation provides bedroom space. A one story addition is added to the north side of t!-.is section.

It has a gable front roof completely covered ·,.rith ivy. ;.. door-.-1ay is located on each leve::.. of :he north side as well ~s on the lower level of the south side. A barely visible datestone in the :;Jeak o: the roof's so·.i:h side apper~.rs to re'3.d "1840". This building has a :Juel purpose-it has a ·:1ell ·Jr trough on the lo·.-: er level .,1hile the up~er level was used as a smoke house.

This stone and frame house was the home of miller David Lee in the nineteenth century. Portions ::if this h'.):ise seem to date ba::k prio:r- -:o 1800. 'I'he house is concealed by large evergreen trees, which were planted by Ralph Sackett Lee, 2-ocal lore informs us, to block the view of his daughter's home "The Mound".
