specific reference to this issue, I
would like to highlight the
wonderful result that our students

secondary and higher secondary
level. Therefore, this edition of the
newsletter is also a dedication to
the passing out batch for all the
honor they have brought us. Apart
from this success story, this issue
also features the many events that
took place in school.
Criticisms and suggestions
regarding the newsletter are
always welcome. Happy Reading!

also performed various skits and
stage plays. A video presentation
was shown to the students
depicting the journey of
independence and a quiz was
organized based on the event.
Founders Day
19th August is celebrated as the
school‟s founder‟s say each year.
However, on the 51st birthday, a
group of teachers also decided to
sing a song for the school which
became the highlight of
celebrations this year. Our music
teacher Mr. Noor Ali Kanji also
composed the lyrics and music of
the song, “Khushi Ka Ye Din August
19th Wishing You Happy Birthday”.
Heartfelt speeches were given by
our students and a talk was given
by our principal, Mrs. Alavi. All the
students and staff members were
treated to ice creams.
A Visit to the Zoo
Our children went to the zoo as
their first educational field trip
where they enjoyed the safari ride
which took them around the entire
zoo. It was a great learning
experience for them as they saw
how different animals lived in their
habitat, what they ate and how
they were taken care of.
Color Day Celebrations
In order to acquaint our nursery
children with the colors around
them, the pre-primary section
organizes color days every year.
The colors celebrated this session
were yellow and red. Activities for
the red day started a week prior to
the day. Our children took part in a
lot of art work and group activities
which were all displayed on the
day to appreciate their skills. A „red
area‟ was decorated with a big
red shop and the story of little red
riding hood was displayed on the
board. Children also enjoyed
making red jelly, red sandwiches
and Roh Afzaa.
Yellow week was celebrated in the
first week of October. Children
came to school wearing yellow
accessories and the entire section
was decorated according to the
yellow theme. „Circle times‟ were
conducted by teachers in which
yellow things like sun, sunflower,
banana, papaya, honey bee etc.
were introduced. They also made
yellow head gears to take home
as give-aways.
Breakfast Activity
Habib Girls‟ School‟s Pre - Primary
section did their healthy breakfast
activity with a menu that included
sandwiches, cake, cereal,
bananas, parathas, eggs, milk and
different types of juices. A
restaurant-like ambiance was
created to teach children table
manners where a buffet table was
set and children were free to
select whatever they wanted to
eat. The importance of healthy
breakfast habits was also
reiterated and a related worksheet
was provided to them in class. Professions To develop a sense of importance
regarding professions, Pre – Primary
section celebrated Professions Day
on 25th November, 2015. Separate
areas were designated for
different professionals such as
beauty parlor, hospital, restaurant,
cobbler etc. Our students of
kindergarten came to school in the
getup of their specific assigned
profession. The activity not only
made children aware about
different professions but also
helped them in learning how each
one is equally important in our
lives.
