The Housing Authority of the City of El Paso (HACEP) has officially unveiled the Changing the Face of Public Housing art gallery at the 6th Annual Art Contest Recepon where a total of seven local arsts were recognized for their submissions and contribuon to the arts. The 6th Annual HACEP Art Contest branched out this year allowing all residents of El Paso County aged 11 years and older to join. The youngest winner at age 11, Delilah Avila from the Kennedy Estates community, shares a lile bit about her painng: “My inspiraon is based on the perfect apartments, a good living environment. A place to make good childhood memories.” The recepon was hosted by the El Paso Public Library at the Downtown Main Branch where the public will be able to view the Changing the Face of Public Housing art gallery on the second floor for free through July 31. The recepon included a keynote speech from nave-El Pasoan and professional arst Tino Ortega, known for his downtown murals and collaboraons with City Representave Peter Svarzbein and U.S. Representave Beto O’Rourke. Arst Tino Ortega and photographer Jesse Ramirez also donated a piece from their work to HACEP as the agency looks to launch an online aucon for these art pieces in an effort to raise funds for an inaugural HACEP educaon scholarship. More informaon on this online aucon will be forthcoming. The Housing Authority of the City of El Paso (HACEP) has officially unveiled the Changing the Face of Public
Housing art gallery at the 6th Annual Art Contest Reception
where a total of seven local artists were recognized for their
submissions and contribution to the arts.
The 6th Annual HACEP Art Contest branched out this year

housing authorities across the nation joined in. Five winners from HACEP placed as top

Here are some cool tips to keep your kids safe at the playground.
• Time your playground visits before the equipment heats up. Earlier in the day or when the sun starts to set are the best times.
• To prevent burn injuries, have the kids wear long pants and keep their shoes on.
• Big water spray bottles to spray down the slides or your kids.
• If there are any hazards in the playground, report them immedi-ately to the property manager.
• Actively supervise children on playgrounds. It won’t be hard – they’ll probably be calling for you to watch them climb, jump and swing.

HACEP Anuncia Oficialmente Ganadores del 6to Concurso
Anual de Arte La Autoridad de la Vivienda Pública de El Paso (HACEP) ha presentado oficialmente en una recepción la
galería de arte del tema Cambiando el Rostro de Vivienda Pública en el 6º Concurso Anual de Arte. Siete
artistas locales fueron reconocidos por su contribución a las artes.
La 6a Entrega Anual del Concurso de Arte de HACEP permitió este año a todos los residentes del Condado
de El Paso a partir de los 11 años de edad a participar. La ganadora más joven de 11 años, Delilah Avila
de la comunidad Kennedy Estates, comparte un poco acerca de su pintura: “Mi inspiración se basa en el
apartamento ideal, un ambiente excepcional. Un hogar para hacer buenos recuerdos de la infancia”.
La recepción fue organizada por la Biblioteca Pública de El Paso en el centro, donde el público podrá ver la
galería de Cambiando el Rostro de la Vivienda Pública en el segundo piso hasta el 31 de julio. La recepción
incluyó un discurso de apertura del nativo artista profesional Tino Ortega, conocido por sus murales en el
centro y colaboraciones con el representante de El Paso Peter Svarzbein y Representante de Estados Unidos
Beto O’Rourke. El artista Tino Ortega y fotógrafo Jesse Ramírez también donaron una pieza cada uno a partir
de su trabajo a HACEP para recaudar fondos para una beca de educación. Más información sobre esta

Estos son algunos consejos refres-cantes para mantener a sus hijos seguros en la zona de juegos.
