Crown Drive Water Main Renewal To All Bidders of T06.2016 Please note: the following addendum applies to T06.2016 and shall be taken into consideration when preparing bid documents.
1. An ADDITIONAL non-mandatory site meeting will be held on Tuesday March 15, 2016 at 1:00pm local time, at the end of Crown Drive.
2. The tender closing date has been extended until 2:00pm local time, Tuesday, March
22, 2016.
A signed copy of each Addendum must also be included with the bid submission. Failure to include this Addendum may be cause for rejection. If you have any questions, please contact our office by email at [email protected].

TENDER T06.2016
Crown Drive Water Main Renewal
To All Bidders of T06.2016
Please note: the following addendum applies to T06.2016 and shall be taken into consideration when preparing bid documents.
TO THE SPECIFICATION
Section 01 10 00 – General Requirements
Page 6, add the following to item 2.5 “Necessary permits include but not limited to, HRM Demolition Permit for the building removal, HRM Streets and Services permit for work within the Right of Way and a Work Within the Right of Way permit from Nova Scotia Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.”
Section 01 22 00 – Measurement and Payment
Page 9, delete the following from item 8 “This item includes: demolition, removal and disposal of the existing chlorinator building including removal and disposal of hazardous materials as shown in the Stantec Hazardous Building Material Assessment Report. All material must be properly disposed of off-site at an approved facility. The work also includes the careful dismantling of the granite block walls and storing the blocks on site stacked neatly.” and replace it with the following “This item includes: demolition, removal and disposal of the existing chlorinator building including removal and disposal of hazardous materials as shown in the Stantec Hazardous Building Material Assessment Report. All material must be properly disposed of off-site at an approved facility. The work also includes the careful dismantling of the granite block walls block by block and transporting them to the Shubie Canal Greenway site on Prince Albert Road in Dartmouth. Delivery must be coordinated with HRM. Contractor to propose methodology for the safe removal and transportation on the blocks to minimize damage.
Page 11, delete the following from item 20.b “ This item includes: excavating the existing pipes, capping and pumping grout into the pipes such that they are completely full of grout and water tight and replacement of the identified manhole covers.” And replace with the following “This item includes: excavating the existing pipes, capping and pumping grout into the pipes such that they are completely full of grout and water tight and replacement of the identified manhole covers. Limit of this work includes all pipes from its location within the lake. Work on the West side of Northwest Arm Dr is within Halifax Water’s Watershed boundary and work will have certain restrictions. At no time can uncured concrete enter the lake.”
TO THE DRAWINGS
Sheet 2, 3, 4, 5 Notes – add the following “Safety fencing must be “modu-lok” or equivalent and must completely surround the work site.”
Sheet 7 Cross section “B” and “C” – add the following - A 250mm thick layer of Type 2 gravel must be installed under the proposed 150mm of Type 1 gravel within the access road location.
Sheet 7 General Construction Notes – add the following “25. Access to Civic 500 Crown Drive and the adjacent park must be maintained at all times
