One of the many great things

about Hallowell Elementary is

the wonderful role our parents

and community partners play

in providing engaging and

welcoming family events. This

past month was no exception.

Our Scholastic Book Fair was

held the week of October 13th

and was a huge success! “Sir

Readalot” would be proud of

our library decorated in a cas-

tle and medieval theme!

Thank you Mrs. Lindbloom,

our librarian, and our many

family volunteers for their

efforts!

One of the biggest highlights

was our annual Fall Festival,

held on Friday, October 17th.

For the third time, this event

was held off-site at the Market

at Del Val. It was a fabulous

evening, with a hayride, very

tricky corn mazes, and tasty

fall treats!

We held our very first Rock n’

Roll into Fitness 5K on

Saturday, October 18th! It

was a collective community

effort, truly a great time for

everyone! Look below for pic-

tures from this fantastic day!

Our “Race for Education”

will be held on Friday, No-

vember 14th, weather permit-

ting. The “race” times for the

different grade levels are as

follows:

2nd & 3rd Grade: 9:10-10:10

AMK & 1st Grade: 10:20-11:20

PMK, 4th & 5th Grade: 1:30-

2:30

quent instructional shifts that

will take place. From there,

families were allowed to move

to other areas within the

school building.

Informational sessions were

held in the library, art, and

health classrooms, as well as

in many other grade level

classrooms. Among other

topics, families learned about

On Tuesday, October 21st, we

held our Family Math and

Technology Night w ith a

variety of exciting and in-

formative family events at

Hallowell. There were many

engaging activities held

throughout the evening. Mrs.

Williamson began with a brief

overview of our the new PA

Core Standards and the subse-

e-books, Artsonia, Math Mus-

cle, the 24 Game, RAZ-Kids,

and Everyday Math games.

We also used our iPad Learn-

ing Lab, our Student Response

System and our video produc-

tion equipment as well!

Thank you to those who lead

and participated in this fan-

tastic family event!

After you have received your food, you can meet your child and feast with them in our all-purpose room.

On Wednesday, November 19th we will be having our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon at Hallowell. Parents are invited to share a traditional Thanksgiving meal with their children cooked by our Hallowell food service chefs at the Hounds Café.

The lunch costs $5.00 per adult and $2.50 per child. Due to the large number of people who attend this great feast, participation will be by reservation only. A sign-up sheet accompa-nies this issue of the Pipe-line so you can indicate the number of adults that plan on attending. All checks
