It was a pleasure
to
be able
to meet with
Je remy and Edie C rim l as t month in Oklahoma
City. Edie s
brother
is Clint Leigh, one of Out-
reaches recruits
in France.
Jeremy and Edie
have graduated from Oklahoma State University.
They are planning to go to
help with
the work
in
Equatorial
Guinea
with Allen
and
Betty Pierce,
teaching E nglish in
the
school. They have not
made a firm commitment
ye t about that
area
specifically. Please keep t hem in y ou r prayer s,
that the Lord will direct their paths
as
they plan
their ways. Proverbs 16:9 1was veiy impressed
with
their
hear t for missions when 1 interviewed
them. They have a zeal
and
passion to reach the
world
that
eveiy Christian
should
have, but
is
so
often
hard
to
find
in the chu rch in
America.
Steve and Laurie
Westlake
from Waxaha-
chie Texas
are
making plans to work
with the
Pierce family in Equatorial
Guinea.
Steve and
Laurie will
be leaving this summer
fo r
Cameroon
Africa for a few months of training. They have
committed themselves
for long
term.
Sonja
and
1
spent a long time with them at the missionaiy
convention this year in Tuisa and 1 just spent a
full day with them and their parents. Laurie s
parents
will
be their forwarding agents and
we
had
a meeting about
that
an d other things. We,
Outreach International,
are
glad to
be of
ser
vice
to them and be their sending agent. Hav
ing a new
li
ahead of them, Lord willing, they
will
need
our prayers.
Nathan and Jessica
Pyykkonen
are also
planning
to
spend the summer in Cameroon
teaching,
working
with
t he you th and whatever
else the Lord may
giv
them to do there. They
have
both
been there before. They plan to
return
after the summer and finish up their schooling
and
go
back
to
be
full-time
miss ionaries there .
We
also
had a good time at
the
convention
with
them
and
h ave come to see
their
passion for the
lost. Please
pray that the
Lord will
continue
to
direct
them and provide the needed funds
to
do
the work that the Lord has called them to. If
churches
here
in America wou ld have
the
same passion
to send
missionar ies as all
o f
these couples have
to
go, then they will not
have any problems getting the needed funds.

WHAT
IS
A MISSIONARY
RECRUITER?
Recruiting
missionaries and
starting
work overseas where
we
have
no work
requires a lot of various tasks. I am grateful to have the privilege of doing this lype
of work since I
cannot
go overseas anymore
due
to my lung t ransplant. We look
for workers, we motivate people
toward mission
work, we hold interviews, we take
recruits
through
orientations to help
prepare
them, we show
them
how to go
about
getting over
there
and
al l
that
is
involved
down to
what kind
of c lo th es to take
We
either send them
to a
place
t ha t h as
an established work
or
send them into
a
new
area with experienced missionaries to
open
a new field. It gives
us
joy to
see
the Lord raise
up
people to go. May we be of service to
the
Lord to help make it
possible for
them
to go and
to
do well.
If
O.I.
was not
in existence
some
workers
mi^ t never
reach the
held of
labor Just
as
any
other
mission l ike PBT, World Vi
sion etc. has an office here
in
the States to coordinate
the work so
the ofiice of
Outreach in Bethel Missouri and here in Texas continues to be vit^ to the families
we
have
overseas and
the
ones that
we
recruit
and
help get
overseas.
I
wanted
to
thank you as
always for all
your prayers
concerning my health.
I just
spent
6
days in the
hospital with some
kind
of infection or parasi te . They
have
me
on
flagyl right now
and
it
seems
to
be
taking
care
of things. With me, I
can
be healthy
one
day
and sick
the
next. I guess that i s t rue for all of us Any
way I am
doing
well
and
have enjoyed
traveling some
too I was able
to
attend the
week of missions there at Lincoln Christian College
last
month February). Be
tween doing some traveling, doing the local thing with
correspondence
etc. I
seem
to stay
out of
trouble for the most
part
:)
It
was
nice to spend some time with Pete, Fran,
and
Denzil while they
are
here for a year on furlough. It
has
been good to
have
dad back from
his
5 month
trip
to Sudan Dad
is raising
funds for th e
work over
there
with
The Voice of
The
Martyrs. If you would like more information
about
that
and
how you
and
your
church can help please
le t
us know
May the Lord
be praised and
glorified
in
all
things as
we strive together to
do thisjob that the Lord
has
allowed for us to do. Maywe be faithful to doing eve
rything
in our
power,
throu^
Christ, to get it done.

It is
hard
to
believe
that the
summer
is
already over.
I also just
realized
that it
has
been
a
long
time since I have vn itten you all. I do apologize for not
>vriting more often.
When I am so busy with everything it is hard
for
me to take the time to do that.
It
has
been
nice
to be
busy
with
some traveling.
It is
always
a
pleasure
to
see
old
friends
as well
as meet a lot of new people. I
was able
to do both this
summer as
I trav
eled to Wyoming, Oklahoma, East Texas,
Atlanta
Georgia and a
few
places in between.
Having
great
health
to
do
that
has been
a blessing from the Lord.
In May,
Dad and I
borrowed David
Bledsoe s truck
and we
drove to
Casper Wyo
ming
to speak at
Paradise
Valley
Christian
Church.
After
dad spoke
the church
collected
over 300 English Bibles to be sent to Sudan via Voice ofThe Martyrs. We
praise
the
Lord
for that little church of about 200 people that have done so much around the world
over
the years.
Dad left to come back
and
I
stayed
and
spoke
at
the
Paradise Valley
Chris
tian School s graduation commencement. It
was
great to see old friends again
and
share
with
them Dad made another stop
before
coming
home
and collected a total of about
5 Bibles
fo r Sudan Praise the Lord
Dad
and
I have met with several of
Outreach International
missionaries this
sum
mer here at our
Bedford Texas office. We
had a good
weekend with
Clint
Leigh
in a time
of
ministry review. Clint
returned
from
spending one year in
France with
our
team there.
He
did a
great job
working with the Baird s and
others
in the local church in Poitier as
well as
ministering
in the local university where a campus
ministry
has been started.
Clint is
back
at Ozark Christian College to finish up and then he
plans
to go back overseas.
We praise God for the great work that Clint was able to be involved in dur
ing his time in France
Great
things
were done for
the
Kingdom.
Nathan
and Jessica Pyykkonen have returned from Cameroon Africa. They had a
great
summer and was able to be involved in camps
and
vacation
Bible
schools, among
other things. They were pleased to have gotten involved with theyouth there
and
they
felt
like it was a great success which
will
be
able
to
help
prepare them for
full time
work
over
there as
soon as they are finished with their college.
Jeremy and Edie Crim decided
not to go
overseas
at
this time. They have taken
on
a ministry upin Minnesota to getsome ministry experience first. We also
agreed
that the
Lord
was leading
themthere at this time.

The work there
seems
to
be
going
along very
well.
Dad and I hadthe opportunityto spend the
day
withKevin and

this summer. They were missionaries in Budapest Hungary back when I was
in Hungary.
They have been
back inthe

Please keep
them in

they

to make the necessary plans to return.
Pray
that the support needed

A

continue
to need workers to go. Please

We are also a part
of
a new program called Nourish the Children.
Through this organization, you can buy a bag of food for 40 that will
feed one
child in a
third world country for a month.
We
are encomaging
individuals
and churches to get
involved
and
also let their
missionaries know
of the opportunities to feed
hungry kids.

MISS IONARY MOTIVATION
N STRY
December 19,
2002
Hello Friends and church
family,
Well, it looks like another year
about to be behind
us. Praise
the Lord for life
and
the health we
have
to enjoy. I
have
been
feeling
great with
111 lung capacity,
as of
last
week. Not sure how
they
figure that out but it is better than
good.
I
hope and pray
you
all
are
doing
as
well
during
this holiday season.
ITimothy 6:17
I am looking forward to being with
family during
this new
year.
My sister Fran, and
her family are going to be here
before
returning to South Africa
from
their
furlough. My
sister
Sonja
is
coming
down
from Missouri
to be with
dad,
mom andI
as
well.
I
am
really
looking forward to my girlfriend Teri who
teaches
in China, being
here.
I will
introduce
her in
my next newsletter
due to some big news I will be
sharing
with
you concerning her
and Iand the future, Lord
willing
we
live
to do so.
Outreach International just
finished having
their
annual
board meeting at the
Missionary
Convention in Wichita Kansas. We are excitedabout the new projects that we
have
been
involved
in
this
past year in
Equatorial
Guinea
Haiti,
and
the Cameroon,
We also
have some
exciting things
going
on withY.E.S.
outh Educational Services)
over
in Southeast Asia.
As
far
as
that particularcountry goes we cannot go into detail in writing
about it so
please
let us knowifyou would
like
more information.
Every
country
that
we
have
workers
in needs more people to
help
out the
work
and expand the existing work that it
going
on. I
hope
you are praying the
Lord
of the
harvest to send out more workers. They are
very
few and far between. It is still difficult
for me to understand that young people are not motivated and/or encouraged to work in
fields
that are so needy
like
the un reached people groups. We have countries we are
tryingto get into and some we
have
been in and trying to get backinto. It is not a matter of
not having the information opportunity or the ability to go into these countries with the
Gospel. We just
lack
the people. Dad Al, and I both would
like
to see one of us in every
Bible College and every University Campus Ministry in the country and share the
needs
and
opportunities with these lads. Funds are lacking for us to do that. Right now that is the
biggest need for Outreach to continue the work ofrecruiting and puttingnew people on the
field. These young people do not have a way to respond to a need they have no knowledge
of.
I have been busy with office work and some
traveling.
As the
president
of
O.I. this year, I
have been
given
new
responsibilities and therefore would
appreciate your prayers,
I
will be
sending
a financial
report out next
time.
If
you
would like an update
on
all our missionaries
and
mission activities please
le t us know. Thank
you
for all
your
prayers
and
support and being a
part of
al l
this work . May God bless
you.
Love ya JONATHAN
