FRIDAY ASSEMBLY
HAMILTON NORTH IDOL Our Idol final will be held this Friday at 2.00pm in the hall. Any student/s who are finalists in the Idol will be notified by phone Thursday evening by Mrs Edwards. All parents are welcome to attend and see the amazing talent these students possess.
Principal's Report Special Santa visit for the Carols/Jubilee event - 14 December 2018 I have heard that Santa will be visiting Hamilton
North on the night of Carols. He will need a suit as his regular one will be getting dry-cleaned ready for Christmas Eve. If you have a good Santa suit that you are willing to lend Santa for the evening I'm sure Santa (and all of us) would really appreciate it. Please let the office know.
Year 6 Ice cream spiders fundraiser Thank you to our wonderful year 6 students who have been making and selling ice cream spiders to raise money for year 6 end of year activities and the end of year school gift which will be another marquee.
2019 Leaders Congratulations to our brave year 5 students who stood as candidates for school leader. It's always an emotional time as some get to experience the highs of being elected and others learn a tough lesson in resilience. I was struck by how gracious every student was when our leadership team was announced on Monday. I couldn't be prouder of these truly amazing young people! Kelly Deakin
Calling all Chess Players!
We are looking to start a Chess Club in Term 1 and wondered if there would be any parent/community helpers out there who would like to offer their services as a ‘Chess Coach’? This would be either a lunchtime or after school club (depending on volunteer availability) and will culminate with an inter-school chess competition towards the end of the term. If this is something you would be interested in doing, please see the ladies in the office to register your availability asap. Many thanks in advance. Suzie Selwood

LIBRARY NEWS The students have stopped borrowing books from the library for this year. Could you please look around your home and have your child drop into the office any Hamilton North Public School books you may find at home. respond in some way - by returning the purple note
ASAP, emai l ing me (Rich Ley) at

For the P&C to bring you shirts at the best possible

order to make the biggest possible contribution to
school projects each year we need to carefully
manage stock levels - and to do that we rely on you
to give us an indication of your requirements.

P&C News
Hi everyone, just update on uniforms.
The P&C is happy to continue providing the
uniform assistance initiative to ensure access of
our school shirt to all families. We will also
welcome the kinder class of 2019 with the gift of a
free shirt, as we have done in previous years.
We have made our restocking purchase for early
2019 based on arbitrarily tripling the 33% return
rate of the purple forms recently sent home, so let’s
hope the return is representative of the need - and
thankyou to everyone who replied. The new
delivery is due in mid January, though there’s
plenty of shirts in stock now.
We will run a seconds shop for school shirts late in
January, just before school returns - then again
early in term 1. To do this we ask for donations of
undamaged used shirts which you no longer
require, that will be collected in the last week of
term 4. If you can support this this initiative, it will
in turn support fellow community members have
better access to school shirts.
Thanks for your ongoing support, and we hope to
see you all at the Jubilee.

Our flowers are beginning to die off but we have fruits such as cucumber and tomatoes to look forward to. Our garlic should be ready for harvest early next month. We also have worm wee for $2 per 2 litre bottle and our all purpose citrus cleaning spray starting from $1. See you in KP classroom Friday afternoon.
Year 5/6 Reminders! PLEASE NOTE A FETE DATE CHANGE DUE TO YEAR 6 ORIENTATIONS:
WEDNESDAY 5TH, THURSDAY 6TH AND FRIDAY 7TH DECEMBER – NEXT WEEK!
Date Event Information
Well done to our class Idol competitors and hosts. You did a great job and we were very proud of you all. Jake you are the bravest (and most talented) boy we know! Ash and Arlo – you guys are the funniest . Thank you to all those students who have ordered their year 6 shirts. There are still some in the office and money is now due by the end of next week. Year 6 voted this year on a white t-shirt with a design (thank you Xanthe and Arlo!) on the back. This is so it can be worn later and is easy to sign for keepsake. The t-shirt can only be worn in the last week of school. Please note: Full school uniform must be worn at all formal functions (not this t-shirt).
FETE DATE CHANGES: Please note a fete date change due to year 6 orientations: Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th
and Friday 7th December – WHICH IS NEXT WEEK…YIKES! Can I also ask that students begin to bring in
Zooper Dooper donations to school ASAP to begin to stock up freezer? Partially frozen packs are best for us to
refreeze as ones straight from the shop shelves can take the whole week to freeze.
STILL TO COME!
Week 8 3rd December
Volunteer Afternoon Tea
Year 6 Leaders and CSO’s will be playing hosts/caterers/cleaners to our wonderful volunteers. Thank you leaders and CSO’s!
Week 8 5th, 6TH and 7th December
Year 6 Micro-Fete (and 5L)
Micro-Fete: Year 6 will be holding a “Playground Micro-Fete’ for 3 whole days as part of our main fundraising event this year. Our focus for this event will be raising enough money to purchase a new ‘tent’ or shelter (commercial grade) for sports carnivals and special events as our parting gift to the school. Year 6 have decided that 2 tents are no longer enough and one tent per sporting house is now important for EQUITY!!! Our main fundraiser is our ‘Bake Stall’ and year 5/6 students are asked to bring in cakes or baked goods for the WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY and FRIDAY of that week. We thank you for this in advance!
