ACT NO. 733

A copy of the Louisiana Science Education Act (Act No. 733) can be found on page 1 in the Appendix. Please read it carefully.

ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

A copy of the district's Acceptable Use Policy can be found on page 4 in the Appendix in this document. A form will also be distributed to each student who did not sign it previously during Prep Day. The employee form can be found on page 5. As you collect all of your students' forms, please send these documents to the office. Additionally, you will need to notify the office if a parent refuses to sign the form. These students will be unable to utilize any computer throughout the school day.

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION POLICYThis policy, along with the reporting form, can be found on page 6 in this handbook. Please read this policy carefully concerning all communications between employees and students.

ACCIDENTS AND REPORTING

Our goal is to PREVENT accidents before they occur. The following procedures should be followed at all times. Forms for reporting accidents can be found on page 7. 1.

SUPERVISE STUDENTS AT ALL TIMES. Students are not to be left alone for any reason. DO NOT leave a class unattended for any reason. Students are to remain in the class until the bell rings for changing classes, lunch, or the end of school. When students are out of class is when most accidents occur. STUDENTS ARE OUR RESPONSIBILITY AND NON-SUPERVISION MAY CONSTITUTE NEGLIGENCE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. EXERCISE GOOD JUDGMENT AND REASONABLE CAUTION when temporarily excusing a student from the classroom. When you excuse a student f r o m your classroom for any reason, including going to the restroom, you are still responsible for that student. REPORT ANY DANGEROUS OR UNSAFE CONDITIONS in classroom, hallway or campus to the administration. BE ON TIME AND ALERT FOR DUTY. Those assigned to duty are to be in the proper locations, be on time and alert. The presence of professional personnel is generally enough to deter improper behavior and provide a substantial legal defense if necessary. Be at your assigned duty post and not grouped together. ACCIDENTS MUST BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY. Report to the office immediately any accident on the premises of the school, traveling to and from school, or during any school activity. COMPLETE AN INCIDENT REPORT IMMEDIATELY if an accident occurs. These forms are located in the office.

7 Bogalusa High School Handbook

BUS RIDING REGULATIONS

A copy of the district's bus riding regulations can be found in this handbook and must be read to each student. Please read these regulations to your students on the first day of school. Then, have them sign the accompanying Bogalusa City School's Bus Riding Regulations Sheet stating they have been read the policy and understand it. The Bus Riding Rules and verification form (found on page 11 in the appendix.) should be turned in to the principal by Friday, August 7th.

CHILD ABUSE

Teachers are required by law to report all suspected cases of child abuse. If you suspect child abuse, you should notify the principal, and contact the Child Abuse Hot Line 1-800-292-5400 to report such suspicions.

CODE OF CONDUCT

You will be provided with a copy of the Code of Conduct for each of your students. You must read and go over the code with your students and have them sign stating that they have read and understand the policy. Additionally, the document must be sent home for the parent to read and sign. It is imperative that these are returned by Friday, August 14th. Several changes have been made to the Code of Conduct this school year. Most notably, the uniform policy has changed.

COMMUNICATION

Every adult who works in this building should strive to resolve problems or conflicts as soon as possible. Whenever a group of people work together on a daily basis, as we all do, conflicts are inevitable. The following considerations are important to remember as each of us should try to resolve conflicts in a timely manner.

Think the best about your colleague. "Never believe anything you hear and only half of what you see!"

Follow the chain of command. Problems are best handled as near to those involved as possible. Work with the principal first where appropriate. If your interaction with Administration was unsatisfactory, visit with Human Resources at the district office. Written communication with the Board of Education should be needed ONLY if you are not able to reach an understanding with the administration.

COMMUNICATION/CORRESPONDENCE

With the Office:

All requests addressed to the office that merit a response from the principal should be in writing, and on a full sheet of paper or e-mail. Requests on scraps of paper are easily misplaced, and will be given little attention. Requests and documents that need a signature may be left in the appropriate administrator’s mailbox.

8 Bogalusa High School Handbook

Outside the School: Communication is vital to the Effective School. This communication is twofold. We must communicate high expectations to our students and try to enhance their self- concept at all times. You are encouraged to send home positive notes about your student from time to time. All students need positive reinforcement, and parents do too. All written communications, other than everyday notes to parents, MUST be approved through the office. One poorly written note or mis-spelled word can severely damage our image as educators, and call into question the ability of Bogalusa High School to educate students.

Inside the School: The second component of communication is in-house. We need to speak well of each other at all times. Employees are expected to be the epitome of professionalism when dealing with each other. If problems arise between employees that cannot be reconciled amicably, the principal is always available to mediate.

COPY MACHINE

Each teacher is allotted a certain number of copies per month. You will be given a code to use when making copies. If you have a large number of copies to be made, obtain permission from an administrator before making copies.

CORPORAL PUNISHMENT

Corporal punishment will not be administered at Bogalusa High School or within the Bogalusa City School District.

DISMISSING STUDENTS

Teachers are required to keep their students inside the classroom (unless otherwise instructed) until the bell rings to change classes. Students should be seated when the bell rings and not gathered at the door ready to stampede down the hall. Teachers must make sure that students leave the classroom in an orderly fashion.

Changing classes is one of the most stressful and potentially dangerous times during the school day. All teachers are required to monitor students during class changes. Be aware of student behavior in the hallway as you pass other students and provide discipline as needed.

DUTY

A copy of the duty schedule will be placed in your mailbox upon finalization. Please keep a copy of your duty assignment in your substitute folder. If you are assigned an early morning or after school duty, please be aware that due to time constraints the substitute will not be able to complete your duty. You will need to make arrangements prior to your absence to have someone cover your duty. Please let the principal know 24 hours ahead of time, who will be covering your duty for you. An email or text will suffice. Duty is to be taken extremely seriously! Please do not arrive late, leave early, or use this time to visit with your colleagues. Stay in your assigned duty areas and walk and monitor constantly. Students must be supervised at all times.

9 Bogalusa High School Handbook

Teachers and staff place themselves in a liability situation if the duty post assigned is not covered. It is most important for all teachers and staff to cooperate with filling duty posts to make sure our school is a safe place and to provide direct supervision of student behavior. Do not stand in groups talking during your duty.

EDUCATOR'S RIGHT TO TEACH

A teacher has the right to teach free from the fear of frivolous law suits, including the right to indemnification by the Bogalusa City School Board for actions taken in the performance of duties of the teacher's employment.

A teacher has the right to appropriately discipline students in accordance with R.S. 17:223 and R.S. 17:416 through 416:26 and any city, parish, or other local public school board regulation.

A teacher has the right to remove any persistently disruptive student from his/her classroom when the student's behavior prevents the orderly instruction of other students or when the student displays impudent or defiant behavior and to place the students in the custody of the principal or his designee.

A teacher has the right to have his/her professional judgment and discretion respected by the school and district administrators in any disciplinary action taken by the teacher in accordance with school and district policy.

A teacher has the right to teach in a safe, secure, and orderly environment that is conducive to learning and free from recognized dangers or hazards that are causing or likely to cause serious injury. A teacher has the right to be treated with civility and respect.

A teacher has the right to communicate with and involve parents in appropriate student disciplinary decisions.

A teacher has the right to be free from excessively burdensome disciplinary paperwork.

The provisions of this policy shall not supersede any other state law, State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education policy, or city, parish, or other local public school board policy enacted or adopted relative to the discipline of students.

EMERGENCY LESSON PLANS

Each teacher is responsible for submitting five emergency lesson plans for each class taught. Please include the following in your plans:

• Class roll • Class seating chart • Class schedule

• Duty schedule • Copies of all work for each student

These lesson plans must be detailed with all materials necessary to complete the lesson attached. Please number each set of plans and submit to Administration by August 14th. FACULTY DRESS CODE

Bogalusa High School is judged by the appearance of its students and faculty. The same basic rules apply to the faculty dress code as those stated in the student dress code. The administration acknowledges that as adults you have earned certain privileges and therefore should not be held to the same stringent code as the students. However, it is the opinion of the Bogalusa High School administration that the faculty members should always look professional and be easily discerned from the students. FIRE & SEVERE WEATHER DRILL

Fire and severe weather drills will be held monthly. Please go over the rules, procedures, and the importance of such drills with your students. You will need to post the evacuation route in your room. A copy of this map was provided to you in this document. Another copy will be given to you at a later date to post inside your classroom close to the door. You will turn in your roll book in to the Principal to show your class is accounted for during each drill.

FOOD AND DRINK

NO food items or drinks are to be brought into the building or consumed in the classroom during instructional time. The only refreshments allowed must be approved by the principal at least one week prior to the activity. Students will be allowed to purchase water during the school day.

GRADES

Grades should reflect a percentage of mastery of the Louisiana and Common Core State Standards.

The Louisiana Department of Education has established instructional standards that relate to the essential knowledge and skills for grade level subjects or course. These standards shall address the skills needed for successful performance in the next grade or next course in a sequence of courses.

Assignments, tests, projects, classroom activities and other instructional activities shall be designed so that the student's performance indicates the level of mastery of the designated state standards. The student's mastery level shall be a major factor in determining the grade for a subject or course.

Each student must receive a minimum of two grades/scores, per subject, per week for each nine-week period. Grades should be posted in JPAMS no later than three (3) days after a graded assignment.

Homework is encouraged when used as necessary practice of a skill. Homework for the sake of homework is discouraged. Teachers are encouraged to work with students in the classroom after the primary instruction time, and during the guided and independent practice portion of the lesson.

Teachers only are allowed to work in the electronic grade book (JPAMS). It will be the teacher's responsibility to verify grades in the electronic grade book before the administrator will allow posting.

HALLWAY DISPLAYS/STUDENT WORK

All bulletin boards both in and out of the classroom should be decorated with student work and seasonal material. When selecting student work to display please ensure that any grammatical or spelling errors have been corrected. It is important we set a good example.

Please do not staple or tape work to the wall or the doors in the hallway. We have worked REALLY hard to make our school look great and we don't want to destroy the hard work.

BULLETIN BOARDSSeveral bulletin boards are posted around the campus. This year the bulletin boards will be assigned to different organizations on campus for monthly displays. Please check the schedule and map provided for this purpose on page 19 of the appendix.

HEAD LICE

The presence of head lice and/or nits (eggs) according to Louisiana Law and School Board policy require that students must be removed from school until they are clear of both lice and/or nits. Four guidelines will be followed:

1. Each student with head lice and/or nits will be removed immediately from school until clear of both head lice and/or nits.

2. Teachers in classrooms where students have been found with lice and/or nits will follow eradication procedures.

3. Parents/Guardians will receive letters giving proper procedures for eradication of lice and/or nits. Not only must hair be treated, but also the whole house including bedding must be free of lice and/or nits.

4. Each child will be checked before being allowed to enter school. The school nurse has the final authority on whether or not the child may re-enter school.

14 Bogalusa High School Handbook

HOUSEKEEPING

The most effective teaching happens in a well-organized, clean classroom. Too much clutter or a trashy environment is an obstacle to learning. Please have students pick up after themselves. These bonus lessons that students learn will become habits that should remain with them the rest of their lives if we apply these expectations consistently.

INTERCOM ANNOUNCEMENTS

Public address announcements will be made during the first five minutes of class each morning and the last five minutes before dismissal. All students, teachers, and other employees should be in an area where announcements may be heard. Please make sure your class is quiet so all can hear what is being said. Announcements are an important part of the school day, and while some will naturally be more important than others, all of them deserve the courtesy and respect of being heard. If you have announcements, please send them to the office the day before to be included the next morning's announcement. Announcements should be written clearly, or typed, so that the person making the announcement can read them without difficulty. Email to Ms. Pittman 24 hours in advance.

INSTRUCTIONAL PARAEDUCATORS

All paraeducators employed at Bogalusa High School are "instructional paraeducators". This means that the majority of their time is to be spent instructing students. The purpose of instructional paraeducators is to improve instruction, whether through direct instruction, or providing the classroom teacher with more planning/instructional time. All paraeducators will primarily work as instructional assistants to the teachers and perform vital clerical duties connected with special programs at Bogalusa High School. All paraprofessionals are subject to other duties that may be assigned as necessary.

LESSON PLANS

Lesson plans are to be posted to OnCourse each Friday by 7:00 p.m. for the following week. The following items must be included in your plans:

• Measurable objective(s) • Procedures

Bell Work Introduction Lesson Activities – with times Closing A list of all materials and supplies CCSS must be indicated Link to Comprehensive Curriculum (copy from CC tab if applicable) Technology Standards must be indicated when utilized Must use the template provided by administrators and instructional coaches

Each teacher has been assigned a mailbox in the front office. All mail and other notices will be placed in the mailbox for you. Teachers are requested to check and remove all items in the morning and at the close of the school day. Please do not allow your mailbox to become cluttered. Most notices will be sent via e-mail. It is each teacher's responsibility to check your e-mail for these notices on a daily basis.

MAKE-UP WORK - REFER TO ZAP PROTOCOLS

Students may make-up assignments and tests only after an excused absence. Students may not make-up assignments and tests for unexcused absences and/or suspensions. Students shall receive a zero for any assignment or test not made up within the allotted time. Students will be given five days to turn in all missed work.

Teachers may assign additional work to ensure students who have been absent have sufficient opportunity to master the essential elements or to meet subject and course requirements. The assignment shall be based on the instructional objectives for the subject or course and may provide greater depth of subject matter than routine make -up work .

MEDIA RELEASE

A copy of the district's media release form was issued during Prep Day to each student who did not give previous consent. Teachers need to return all signed forms to the office upon receipt. Please have each student return the form to his or her homeroom teacher with a parent's signature. As you collect all of your students' forms, please send these documents to the office by Friday, August 14th. Additionally, you will need to notify the office if a parent refuses to sign the form. These students will be unable to have their work, picture, or identification publicized.

MEDICATION

Teachers are not to give students medication of any type. Only personnel that have been specially trained in dispensing medication to students may give this type of aide to students. The teacher's only responsibility is to refer the student to the office. Teachers' personal medications should be locked in a cabinet at all times.

16 Bogalusa High School Handbook

MEETINGS

Faculty Meetings Teachers are required to attend all Faculty Meetings. District policy mandates that faculty meetings be held once a month at a minimum. Faculty Meetings are scheduled on Wednesday's for grades 9-12 in the library. Grades 6-8 will be held on Thursday afternoon.

Cluster Meetings Cluster Meeting will meet weekly during your planning period. Grades 6 -8 will meet on Wednesdays and Grades 9-12 on Thursdays in the Academic Coaches room 118. Each grade level will meet weekly to discuss grade level items.

General Meeting Conduct All meetings are important and are worthy of everyone's undivided attention. Meeting time is not a time to average grades, grade papers, check personal electronic devices, or talk with peers. The principal considers meetings as his/her classroom and asks for the same attention that you expect from your students.

MOVIES

All movies shown within your classroom must be educational. Before showing a movie, you must have the principal's approval.

OFF-CAMPUS LUNCH

You may sign out for lunch each day. Employees are expected to sign in and out in the office. You have a very small amount of time for lunch (30 minutes). Do not be late! If you are late returning, you will not be permitted to leave campus for lunch again.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

The Guidance Department will be happy to set up a conference for you at your convenience. Please let them know when a convenient time is for you.

Teachers should make an attempt to meet with each parent one time during the first nine weeks and document this on your conference form on page 21 of the appendix. Document your attempts on the parent/teacher conference form and within your teacher planner. This form must be completed and returned to the principal for submission each grading period. Your first conference must be completed no later than September 30th.

17 Bogalusa High School Handbook

All teachers are required to have a conference with the parent of any student not showing success (D or F grade) or who are having difficulty (behavioral or academic). When holding a conference with a parent or guardian, it should be documented on the conference sheet and within your Teacher Planner. Document your phone calls, also. These conferences should be often enough to ensure student progress. The Conference Documentation Form includes one for each semester. Unless the student has a “C” average or below, you should hold a parent conference once a semester. If the student has a “C” or below average, more conferences will be required.

PAYROLL

Bogalusa City School System employees will be paid on the 25th of each month. Should that day fall on a Saturday, Sunday or a holiday, employees may be paid on the last school day prior to the 25th.

PERSONAL DAYS

Teachers are allocated two personal days a year for personal business. A "Staff Personal Absence Approval Request" must be completed and submitted to the Principal at least five (5) days prior to the date of anticipated absence. Forms can be obtained from the Principal's Secretary. Approval or disapproval of requests will be indicated by the signature of the superintendent on the copy returning to the teacher and will be returned to the teacher as soon as possible.

PLANNING PERIODS

Each classroom teacher has been allotted time each day for planning. Please utilize this time effectively. Plan, prepare, and collaborate during this time. This would also be an appropriate time to schedule parent conferences and IEP meetings. No one will be allowed to leave campus during this time. Planning period are not "break" time. This time is to be used for instructional purposes only!

POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT

All faculty members should insist that students abide by the rules of proper conduct in the halls, on the stairwells, on the yard, in the classroom, in the rest rooms, and in the cafeteria. This should also include the bus line and car line before and after school. To ensure the implementation of PBS at Bogalusa High School, all procedures for each of these areas will be taught and re-taught throughout the year so that everyone knows exactly what is expected of the students. All of these procedures should be a learned behavior that will be taught and practiced during the first days of school.

With this in mind, all faculty and staff should assist in the supervision of these areas at all times! It is of utmost importance for you to set up your daily routine for your classroom THE FIRST DAY of school and PRACTICE IT EVERYDAY!

Our goal as a PBS school is to ALWAYS ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE! We will reward good behavior and encourage others to behave appropriately by doing so. Remember students model what they have been taught. Treat them with respect if you wish to receive it.

18 Bogalusa High School Handbook

PROFESSIONALISM / CONFIDENTIALITY

Employees are not to discuss school matters outside the school setting. Innocently repeated anecdotes are often amplified by the public, resulting in the hurt of a student, a teacher, a parent, or another person. Think about what you are saying. Would you want people repeating it if it was about you? The "Golden Rule" is still the best rule .

Professional people should honor one another, at school as well as in public. As you have often heard, we do not have to like one another, but we must work together and respect each other, and not let personal feelings get in the way of helping students.

PUPIL PROGRESSION PLAN

The Pupil Progression Plan for the 2015-2016 school year will become effective with board approval during the August school board meeting. You will be provided with a copy when the plan is adopted. Homeroom teachers will need to get a copy for each student signed by their parent(s). The homeroom teacher will be responsible for keeping this on file within his/her classroom.

REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE REQUESTS

Any repair or work order that is sent to the Central Office must have the principal's signature and knowledge in the event she/he is called and questioned about the order. The district work order for repairs and maintenance is located in the office. A copy of the maintenance request form can be found on page 22 of the appendix.

SAFETY & SECURITY

All visitors to the building are required to have a visitor's pass. If you notice unauthorized people in the building who do not have a pass, notify the office from the nearest phone. Outside doors are to be shut during the instructional day. Teachers whose rooms are located near the outside entrances should continually monitor them to ensure that they remain shut. Please double check outside doors when you leave in the afternoon. Your classroom door should be locked at all times. If you need keys to the building, or to classroom doors, please see the principal. The last employee to leave, must lock the gate.

The state mandates that teachers should not leave students unsupervised. If there is an emergency, call the office and we will send someone to your room immediately. SCHOOL FUND RAISERS

The purpose of fund raising is to make a profit. Sponsors/directors of clubs should be reasonably certain that the fund raising event has the potential for being successful. The principal must approve all fundraisers. The sponsors/directors must complete the Fund Raiser Approval Form and have the principal's approval BEFORE the fundraiser begins. A Parental Consent Form must also be signed by the parent/guardian prior to a student participating in the fundraiser. The consent form must be obtained from and signed by the principal. All monies are to be turned into the school's bookkeeper. All school fundraisers must conform to the policies of the Bogalusa City School System. STUDENT ATTENDANCE/TARDIES

Student attendance is a crucial responsibility for every teacher. Teachers MUST maintain an up-to-date and accurate roll for each class, including absences (excused and unexcused), tardiness, and suspensions. The reporting of attendance is one of the most important aspects of the teacher's clerical duties. State funding is directly tied to our attendance percentages, and attendance reports are audited by the state on a regular basis. Attendance will be taken during the first five minutes of each class period using JPAMS.

Notification for excused and unexcused school absence(s) will be given to parents at 3, 5, and 8 days. Notification for excused/un-excused absences will be handled as follows:

• 3 r d Ab s e n c e Parent notification/letter • 5th Absence Notice sent to Child Welfare and Attendance and parent and truancy office • 8th Absence Parent and student will be remanded to court

If a student is tardy to your class more than three (3) times within a nine-week period, after parental contact, then notify the front office with the correct form. When a student is tardy five (5) times, the school will report these tardies to the Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance and the local truancy office. Please refer to the attendance policy found in the Code of Conduct.

STUDENT TELEPHONE USE

Students are to use the telephone only in an emergency or illness. Students are not to use any phones except those in the office. Teachers should send students with a hall pass to the office. Students will not be permitted to use the phone without a hall pass. Students are not permitted to use the phone for items that were left at home or to find out information about transportation from school. This information should be discussed and handled prior to arriving on campus.

SUBSTITUTE FOLDER

Each teacher is required to maintain a substitute folder in the event of an unexpected or planned absence. This folder should be kept in the office where the substitute can locate it and should be well marked. The following should be in the substitute folder: a class roster for each period, a seating chart (if used), a bell schedule, referral forms, a plan for the day(s) out and extra work. A substitute needs plenty of extra work for the students to work on. Your assigned duty post should be located in your sub folder.

TEACHING

Teaching is student engagement. Jerome Brunner said that "any person can learn anything that can be put in the simple language of the student."

You need to teach with fervor, zeal and energy. Do not sit behind your desk. You cannot teach effectively while you are sitting down. What your students learn is in direct proportion to the amount of interaction with the teacher and the number of hands-on activities, not worksheets. Little learning takes place when the teacher sits behind his/her desk. "Teach on your feet and plan on your can."

Avoid re-teaching by making sure learning occurs while you are teaching. Independent work should be monitored. Work from bell-to-bell. DEMAND EXCELLENCE!

Make wise use of time. We only have students for 176 days a year and we have so much in the curriculum to cover. Utilize as much of the day as possible for instructional purpose. Even five minutes a day unscheduled totals 835 minutes or almost 14 hours. Have beneficial activities for those children who complete work quickly. The average students in your class have the best potential for the most growth. Resource teacher and paraprofessionals should be used to work with students needing remediation. Teachers should have activities planned daily for resource teachers and paraprofessionals.

TEACHER TELEPHONE USE

Teachers may use the telephone only during their break (planning period and lunch – but not while on duty). The Bogalusa City School System has a written policy that states that there will be no use of cell phones during the school day. Any faculty or staff member found using a cell phone (unless the phone is district issued) during the school day will be issued a warning on the first offense. The second offense will result in a conference that will be documented in your personnel file. The third offense will result in a letter of reprimand to be placed in personnel file and the employee being sent home for the remainder of the day. Please let the principal know if there are extenuating circumstances that would require you to use your cell phone during class time.

TEXTBOOKS

Teachers shall assume full responsibility of all textbooks issued to them and shall keep an accurate record of all textbooks issued to students. The record shall include the name of the student, the number assigned to the textbook, and the condition of the textbook when issued and returned. Teachers shall conduct a textbook check in December and April. After each textbook check, any lost or damaged textbooks must be reported to the principal. As soon as a textbook has been lost or damaged, the teacher must send a Parent Notice of Textbook Loss/Damage Form to parents. Teacher must retain a copy for his/her records and send a copy to the principal. Students will not be issued another take-home book until obligation is met. Teachers will issue a textbook to the student to be used only during class time.

When a student pays for a textbook, the office will fill out a Textbook Payment Receipt and issue to the student. The money collected along with a copy of the Textbook Payment Receipt will be submitted to the principal. In the event that a textbook is recovered, a refund with be given to parents. Documents for recording this information can be found in this handbook on page 23.

All Teachers' Editions/Resources shall be placed on the school inventory. Teachers must sign for these materials at the beginning and at the end of the school year. If a teacher leaves the district or transfers to another school, all teacher materials must be accounted for before his/her departure. This procedure will assure that the teacher resources are available for the incoming teacher.

THERMOSTATS AND LIGHTING

The lights should be turned off when each person leaves his/her room for the day. Thermostats for cooling/heating should be at a reasonable setting.

TOBACCO USE

The Bogalusa City School System shall be declared a tobacco-free environment. No person shall smoke or use tobacco products on any property of the Bogalusa City School System. Smoking/tobacco use is to be located a minimum of 200 feet from the school property. Violations of this policy by an employee of the Bogalusa City School Board shall be handled in accordance with the Board's policies and procedures.
