Demographics:

Race - 79% white, 13.3% black, 7.7% other

Gender - Women 64%, Men 36%

1. Do you shop for sporting goods online?

● 71% of respondents do shop for sporting goods online, 23% do not, and 6% did not shop for sporting goods

2. How much do you spend annualy on sporting goods?

● 30% of respondents spend less than $100, and 70% spend greater than $100

3. Which sporting goods items do you purchase regularly?

● 74.3% reported shoes and apparel, 20% reported sports equipment, and 5.7% reported memmorabillia

4. What would help you make decisions about which goods to purchase based on your needs?

● Respondents mentioned customer reviews, price comparisons, and where to locate particular products.

5. Which aspect of your life would a service like this help you the most?

● Finding others to engage in the same activities● get adice on product purchasing decisions● find out when and where sporting events will occur (marathons,

tough mudder, etc)● Discuss stats and other performance indicators with like-minded

people

6. Do you have the problem that we think you do?

● The consensus among respondents was that while most didn't currently have a problem shopping for sporting goods the benefit of having "an app for that" and a way to engage others involved in their respective sports was of most benefit.

Of those who responded they would not use the site, typical responses were as follows:

"There are enough social network sites, why join another?"

"Im not into the whole social networking thing."

Undecided respondent stated,

"Id use it if other people were using it alot and found it usefull."

7. Would you be interested in using a service like this?

● 67% say yes, 23% say no, and 10% undecided/not sure

Of those that answered yes to this question, typical responses were as follows:

"I like social networks and this one is specific to my hobby." "facebook is so broad, a site like this can help me find other atheltes."
