REDINGTON CSR – CONNECT
March 2019
On 6th March 2019, Foundation for CSR @ Redington
completed its fourth Anniversary.
It is the great momentum to receive the best wishes from Mr. Raj Shankar, Managing Director
of Redington Group.
“Congratulations on Redington Trust completing the fourth anniversary! Lot of good work has been done in
the last 4 years which has brought pride to you, to the CSR team and to Redington. I wish you roll out many
more CSR programs which can help to uplift the economically challenged and differently abled people to find
new meaning in their lives.”
Another good momentum is the CSR partnership with HP. HP, the first brand for Redington’s
business, has become the first CSR partner outside Redington Group! We are glad to share
that HP has provided a grant of Rs. 62.75 Lakhs towards implementing their World On Wheels
(WOW) project. The trust has recently initiated to collaborate with Redington’s Vendors and
like minded corporates to serve the society better.
“HP-WOW offers a mobility solution to digital divide by bringing the world of information and knowledge over wheels
to isolated and disadvantaged groups in rural areas whereby they can not only ne linked to the various Govt programs
and initiatives but also gain computer E – Literacy and IT enabled education for rural youth, school children, farmers
group and others.”
During the last three years, the trust has associated with more than 100 schools and it wishes
to take this opportunity to reach the digital literacy to southern Tamil Nadu. HP and Lenovo
has communicated that they have sanctioned Rs. 10 lakhs towards computer support. We
take this opportunity to thank HP, Lenovo and other vendors who have reposed the trust in
Redington by partnering their CSR activities.
We thank the business team, especially Mr. Neogi and BU Heads for enabling us for
connecting to vendors for our CSR collaboration activities. We are also thankful to Mr. Salil
Kurian and his team for bringing HP as first choice. We are confident that our association in
CSR activities with others will bring more value and reach to the underprivileged and aspiring
youth.
With Best Wishes!

At the end of every academic year, before conducting the Placement Drive at the
Elite Centres located in the associated colleges, we conduct Parents Meet. This is
organized for the parents to understand about our skill development program
conducted throughout the year and how it would help their children to grab a
placement opportunity.
Indian parents play a vital role in their child’s academic and career choices.
Therefore it is very important to make the parents be aware of the number of
opportunities available out there for their children and how the wise choice of one’s
career can change their life. A LinkedIn study shows that 82 % of the Indian
parents are involved in deciding their child’s career.

In this 4 years of CSR journey with the students from rural places, we are able to
understand the reason for the parents being hesitant to send their children out of
the town for work. The career counselling is not only necessary for the students but
also for the parents who restrict their children to work out of stations and indirectly
avoid them from exploring the opportunities.
The Project Team of Redington Foundation conducted the parents meet at all the
Elite Centres in the colleges to bring a change in the parent’s mind set by
explaining how the over coddling can be the biggest barrier for their child’s career
growth.
Our team also explained about the companies that are going to participate in the
placement drive and the preparations required to face an interview. The parents
also gave their feedback about the skill development program and about the
career counselling provided by our team
Sometimes to make a change in someone’s life, an
extra effort to make a change in someone’s mind set
is also important
