Dear Friends, Spiritual reading is a VERY important element of the spiritual life. Sacred Scripture is the first book that provides nourishment to us. But God’s grace also works powerfully through other books. This weekend I want to recommend a wise and witty author named Fr. Dwight Longenecker. He is a convert to the Catholic Faith from Anglicanism who has a tremendous gift for imparting wisdom and inspiration.

This weekend we contemplate the mystery of the Lord’s Epiphany. “We saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:2) Don’t let this beautiful mystery pass you by! I highly recommend Fr. Longenecker’s latest book, entitled “Mystery of the Magi.” The work presents both painstaking research and theological reflection which will enlighten and inspire you as you begin a new year 2018. Be certain that if you make spiritual reading a regular habit in your spiritual life you will attain a “fresh spiritual way of thinking” (Ephesians 4:23)! Your Pastor, Father O’Hare

Wisdom For the Week: “To convert is to turn towards God. I am profoundly convinced that our bodies must participate in this conversion. The best way is certainly to celebrate Mass – priest and faithful – turned together in the same direction: toward the Lord who comes." (Cardinal Robert Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship)

Pastor’s Corner

Quote of the Week

“It is my heartfelt hope that in the course of 2018 the Spirit will lead the United Nations to draft and approve two Global Compacts, one for safe, orderly and regular migration

and the other for refugees.” (Pope Francis)
