Principal’s Notes…. Happy Holidays Parents, With the holiday season upon us, we want to celebrate the season with a spirit of giving. It is important that as we give thanks and appreciation to what we have in our own lives that we model to students the importance of “giving” to those who have served us in the military and are now in need of assistance. With that in mind, Red Rock Student Council will be sponsoring our annual drive to support our veterans in need. Our drive this year will be called “Warmth for Warriors” and we will be collecting socks (black or white) beanies and scarves. Each class will be collecting items from now until December 9 th . We are working in collaboration with Old Pueblo Community Services in Tucson to ensure that all items collected at Red Rock are immediately distributed to our veterans in need. The class with the most items will be treated to a movie during the school day at Harkins Movie Theater on December 21 st . What a wonderful way to begin our winter break knowing that we have been a part of “giving” to those who have given to us in service! We want to extend warm holiday wishes to all of our parents, families and community members. We hope that you will be able to join us throughout the month of December as our classes celebrate the season with performances and activities. Respectfully, Lillian Norris NO Bake Cookies! This December Newsletter colored paper was donated by First Glimpse Ultrasound located on Ina Rd.

Winter Extravaganza! Please join us as we celebrate the HOLIDAY SEASON at our Winter Extravaganza on Wednesday December 14th from 6:00-7:30 PM at the Red Rock School Gymnasium.

WARMTH FOR WARRIORS Drive Please help us to "give" to those who have given so much! Our student council is working with Old Pueblo Community Services to collect white or black socks, beanies and scarves for our VETERANS who are in need. Our drive lasts from now until December 9th! Thank you in advance for your spirit of "giving!"

Friday Assembly Parents, please remember that you are always invited to our Friday Assemblies each Friday morning at 8:30 in the gym. We celebrate birthdays, sports activities, students of the month, Ben’s Bells winners, etc. This is a great time for our entire school to come together and enjoy celebrations and accomplishments!

Three Kinder Plays Ms. Holder's kindergarten class is currently working on three well-known children's stories to perform as plays (hopefully in January). We will proudly present "The 3 Pigs", "The 3 Bears", and "The 3 Goats". We are very excited to be learning how to say our lines with feeling and act the way the characters would act. The drama club middle school students will help as stage hands, too. Parents and classes will be invited, so get ready for cuteness overload!

LOST AND FOUND…Have you noticed that you can't find your favorite jacket or lunchbox? Well, we may have

it in our lost and found. We have a lot of stuff that's been piling up here in the office. Even if you don't remember

losing it, we may still have it. Stop by anytime to check out what we have.

RED ROCK NEWSLETTER

December 2016

Red Rock PTO News… It's hard to believe it's already December! Thank you to everyone who came out to our Harkins Family Movie Night! The Trolls movie was a great kid friendly movie and a fun night out! We have exciting news to report about our 2016 Fall Festival. With help from so many of you we were able to bring in over $6,000 this year!!! We are excited for all the great possibilities that this will help us provide for teachers and the school. Also, with part of the money raised we want to show our thanks to AVFD by making a donation to their adopt-a-family program. Thank you all for your continued support! We do have an important correction to be made to the flyer that went home regarding our festival donors. We neglected to include First Glimpse Ultrasound and their donation of a free ultrasound session. It's important to us that we recognize these individuals and businesses that help make our festival possible! Thank you all! Our Kids Korner Holiday Shoppe is coming up! Look for information and wish lists to go home with students. Our shoppe will go Monday, Dec.5th through Friday, Dec. 9th with opportunities to shop Tuesday - Friday. Volunteers are always needed to help with running the shoppe all week. We can't do it without your help! If you can volunteer please contact Angela Hall 405-314-0492 (text or call). There will be no PTO meeting in December. Enjoy the holiday break! Red Rock PTO
