Keystone Appaloosa Club
Happy New Year!!!! WELCOME 2020 The beginning of a new year brings with it reflections on the past year and thoughts about our goals for the
year to come. The KAC board hopes that you fulfilled your 2019 goals and look forward to watching you
journey toward your 2020 goals!
KAC looks forward to bringing you great events for you to participate in with your Appaloosa and your
Appaloosa family. As a brief primer, we are looking forward to our banquet in February, our spring clinic in
March and then the start of the show season with our annual show in May. We will again be collaborating
with the GEAR show in 2020 as well.
We are always on the look out for new ways to promote our appaloosas and new events we can bring to our
members. If you have any ideas, we would love to hear about them. We also ALWAYS love to hear any news
about you and your horses.
Don’t forget to continue to check out our Facebook page and website, www.kacapps.com, for any forms or
paperwork you may need.

Awards Banquet February 8. 2020 at the Hollywood Casino
It’s that time of year again! In order to make sure that you get all of the
news from KAC as well as all of your points from showing, get your
membership forms in as soon as you can.
Individual members are $20.00. Youth members are $15.00 and a
family membership is $30.00. Our membership gives you access to
KAC information and events. It also allows you to be eligible to
accumulate points (with additional points application) for both year
end awards and regional World Show qualification.
We are focusing this year on ways to bring more events to our members
and are always open to hearing your feedback. Our goal is to provide
value to our members and do more than hold a horse show. Please let
us know what types of events you would like to see for our members
and we will see what we can do!
ANNUAL BANQUET
2020 MEMBERSHIP AND POINTS ELIGIBILITY
Our 2019 awards banquet will be
held on February 8, 2020 at 6
pm. Each year we gather to
celebrate the achievements of our
competitors at the Hollywood
Casino at Penn National Race
Course.
Our event starts with hors
d’oeuvres and social hour. The
next event is a great meal fol-
lowed by the awards presentation.
The KAC general membership
meetings is also held at this time.
A new event for this year’s
banquet will be our awarding of
the first annual 4-H scholarship
award for the highest placing
English and Western Exhibitors
at the State 4-H show.
If you have never been to the
banquet, please consider joining
us. The banquet hall enjoys an
amazing view of the race horse
paddock as well as the horse
racing. You can check your skill
at picking a winner by watching
them get ready in the paddock.
Who knows, you may walk away
with a little money in your pocket
from the races as well as having a
great time with your Appaloosa
friends.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!
Not long after Arturo left us for the 2019 clinic, we were already received requests for him to
return in 2020 to give another clinic.
Join us in March as either a rider or auditor. Saturday will have two sessions, beginner and
advanced trail. Sunday morning’s session will be showmanship and the afternoon session will
be horsemanship. He will also be available for a limited number of private lessons that will be
available on a first come first served basis.
We asked Arturo to come last year based on his exceptional show record in the Appaloosa and
Paint Horse arenas. What we didn’t know is that, in addition to being a successful competitor,
he is also an exceptional teacher. If you were with us last year, you know that he does a great
job in helping youth and non-pro students make improvements and work better with their
horses.
The clinic will again be held at Willow Brook Farms in Northampton, Pennsylvania. There are
stalls available for those riders who may
wish to either come Friday night or who
are riding in multiple sessions on the
weekend. There are also camper hook ups
available for those of you who wish to stay
in your trailer.
Get a jump start on your 2020 show
season by attending and learning some
new skills.
The registration form is on our Facebook
page as well as in the back of this
newsletter.
